    Definitely a government video!

A little late to respond to this...for some reason, I couldn't watch YouTube videos. All I got was a black box on my screen. :notsure:

My H.S. G.F. was in all the plays and musicals, so naturally, I had to sit through all of them.
In '98 I saw RENT in the cities and it was actually pretty impressive (live).
However, when my favorite t.v. show throws in a musical episode I tend to cringe.

Mine was, also. I will say that I enjoy live theater much more than watching a musical on a screen. Sometimes I regret not participating in anything like that as a kid.

I remember going to a cast party after one of their shows. One of the girls played "it's oh so quiet" from Bjork on the stereo and did a dancing routine while singing along, and it was one of coolest things I've ever seen. It was one of those moments that you never forget.

We had a couple of those at our house when the kids were in school.:goingcrazy::goingcrazy:

I never was a fan of musicals. But. I do have to say, those kids work their butts off to put on a good show:thumbsup:

Oh there will be some mods all right
Closest thing I did to a musical would have been a play I did for Greek and Roman history. They had me in a toga and just before it was my time to go up it came undone and I had no idea how to redo it so I just tied it around my neck like a cape and went out on stage with my man titties hanging out. There's footage of it somewhere out there and I want to see it lol

I had one of those HS GFs who was in every musical and I happened to be in orchestra so I was also involved... and hated it. Like @Taco-Grinder said, it was a ton of work, especially since we had a live pit orchestra, not recordings. So many after school and weekend hours put into that. The cast parties were pretty wild though.

Now my daughter is in high school and she was talked into their production of The Adams Family musical last year as a sophomore and loved it. She'll be finding out what this year's show will be very soon and is very excited about it.
