5100 with aftermarket coils????

    I thought that the 5100 with Eibach springs were a good combo but after reading the Lift FAQ I am confused. It says that aftermarket coils are not recommended.

    Below the quote from the FAQ.

    "Bilstien 5100's This is a great affordable lift kit. These replacement shocks are great to add a few inches to the front of your Tacoma, it is adjustable and have a slightly better valving system than the stock shocks that come with the Tacoma's. (But please take note NO One recommends it to be used in conjunction with after market coils) This may result in damage of your suspension components."

    You can use them on the 0 or .85 setting with Eibachs from what I've read.

    I have them at 0.85" with Eibach coils. No problems at all. I'm switching to OME 886's and 90000 shocks to better support my front bumper and winch though.

    Toytec's website states the Eibach coils are ok to use with the Bilstein 5100's. There is a debate as to whether or not the OME 884 or 885 coils can be used with the 5100's. They will work, it can just cause warranty issues since Bilstein or OME won't warranty their product unless paired with one of their own products.

    If paired with the Eibachs they will still warranty them. Eibachs are the only coils that have been tested with the Bilstien 5100's. So there for they will warranty them. I have called to confirm this! I am running the 5100;s with Eibachs/Toytec coils and i love ot way better than stock and way better than the stupid spacer lift i had originally

    I'm in the same boat, I ordered 51 hundos and currently have 884's. Is there any reason it shouldn't work properly? Do the Eibachs provide lift as well, or are they just to accommodate the 5100/?

    They give you 1.6 Inches of lift and then you set the 5100's to .85 to achieve close to three inches of lift.:D

    With the OME 884's you leave the 5100's set at o to achieve the same amount of lift as the Eibach?Toytec coils:D

    Its just that the 884's are more stiffer than the Eibach/Toytec coils. I only know because my buddy Gregero has the 88'4,s and i have the Eibachs.:D

    :DYes i just said that i got right close to 3inches of lift with th Eibachs and 5100's set at .85

    I don't think this it is a question of will they work. Its a question of how long they will function correctly.

    There seems to be some indication of stiffening ride issues as time goes by. The argument goes, the 5100 are designed for the stock coils which are ~375# coils. The problem is the toytec eibachs are 620# coils, way stiffer than stock.

    So far this is mostly anecdotal information so it may or may not happen to all.

    Yes, if you set them at "0".

    Whatever combination you choose, don't go over 3" of total lift and you'll be alright.

    Did say they did... I put a link to Toytec's website where they state that the Eibach coils are acceptable to use with Bilstein shocks, including the OEM shocks.

    cool, and if i set them at zero, that should give about 2 inches of lift? I am going to remove the spacer that came with the toytec kit.
