The number of victims was exaggerated slightly. 18 dead total. 8 have been identified, 10 unidentified so far. Robert Card has been identified as the shooter and has a warrant out for 8 murder charges that will be expanded to 18 once everyone has been identified. We live in the woods across the river. It does not appear that he has come in this direction. Searches seem to be focused towards the north a bit but there are more rumors and guessing on social media than anything else.

And the number of injured was listed at 13 instead of 60.

Yeah, definitely has given me a new perspective on major events like this - what is reported nationally on the news vs what has actually been confirmed locally or said by state officials in press conferences. Unfortunately doesn't seem to be lining up as much as you'd hope

Even the Maine State Police cannot get the name of the location where the shooter's Subaru was left. It is called Millers Park. They keep calling it the Pejepscot Boat Launch, which is below the dam. Doesn't seem that big of a deal, unless you live close to one or the other.

You can almost hear the entire state breathe a sigh of relief.

I am very impressed with the way Mike Sauschuck is handling the press conferences. Especially liked the way he wrapped up this evenings brief

What's going on guys? Relatively new to the forum. I have an 02' TRD access cab, and will be receiving my new '23 TRDOR double cab in the next couple of weeks. Looking for a good place to get woolwax or nhoil undercoating done south of Portland. Any recommendations?

I do my own FF so I can't make any recommendations, but I was on the FF page looking for additional applicator hoses and noticed that they have a location finder Undercoating Locator - Fluid Film (fluid-film.com)
The first one listed is a mobile service. Never knew they existed.
With the assumption your 2023 is coming from a dealership I wonder if they offer undercoating and how expensive it would be.
If you're pondering DIY FF it's almost impossible to screw up.

I'm pretty capable mechanically. I just haven't attempted something like that, and didn't wanna risk missing important areas that professionals know about. Where have you found that have good prices for DIY products?

I don't think missing a spot occasionally will hurt anything. Good chance you'll get it next year, when you're more experienced and progress from undercoating newb to professional. When I notice cars and trucks with rust it seems to be most prevalent at the door bottoms, rockers, wheel wells and tailgate where water can pool. A little bit of FF goes a long way. Plus, the FF creeps and flows. I use <1 gallon per coating. If you don't want to spring for a sprayer, I'd imagine 6-8 or so aerosol cans would be enough.

I purchased a Kellysports gun from Amazon a few years ago. It came with the gun, 3 bottles, 360 wand and straight wand. About the same time, I bought 5 a five-gallon FF pail from NAPA.
I like to use an aerosol can with the thin red straw for some of the tighter spots. This year Lowes, Walmart or HD seem to be the cheapest at just over $11 per can. I use less than one aerosol can per two vehicles.

I jack the truck up, but I've done it before without jacking. Cover the just front tires and wheels with a plastic bag to protect the rotors and take off the spare tire. The back drums are fine uncovered.
I start with the aerosol can and get the holes at the bottom of the doors. If I remember correctly the other enclosed spots can be done with the 360 wand. I think there's a couple of plugs under the rocker that I pop off. and sprayed in.
Then I take off every second or third clip on the fender liners and same for the screws at the tailgate liner. Push the 360 wand in and spray while pulling the wand out.
After that get under the truck and go to town. Most if it can be gotten with just the gun's tip without a wand. Avoid the exhaust if you can but if you spray it no big deal. It'll burn off. I prefer to lay down cardboard under the truck to shimmy around opposed to a creeper. Once that's done, I'll pop the hood and spray with the straight wand down towards the lower UCA's and maybe a few spots toward the front of the hood.
    Done

It helps to have the FF warm so it's less viscous. This time of year, I place the full bottle in warm water while prepping.

I have yet to do my truck, but here's a pic of wife's new CRV about to get its first FF.

Thank you for that. I'll try and give it a go myself. I didn't know there was aerosol cans as well. I'll grab the 5 gal and a couple cans.

2nd the above. First time I ever did my truck I had 6 aerosol cans. Needed to run out and grab a few more, 8 would have been perfect to get a good heavy coat on everything the first time. The 360* sprayer wand is critical for the boxed sections of frame, lower control arms, crossmembers, frame next to the gas tank, and other hard to get spots. Otherwise I find the red straws work just fine.

Be warned its a real messy job. If you have a paved driveway or live in a complex you'll want to put a big drop cloth down first, and wear old clothes.

5 gallons was like $200. They sell gallons for about $50. One gallon will be more than enough for one job. You'll need a sprayer and compressor for the one and five gallons. The first year I only had a pancake compressor and had to wait for it to catch up. I've since gotten a larger compressor.

    O'Reilly Lewiston prices online.
    FF2.jpg

There's a sold separately cap with the 360 nozzle for the aerosol cans. There some of the cans that already have the 360 nozzle, but I've never seen them in a store, only online.

Yeah, your clothing will be toast, especially for your first time.
I prefer cardboard over the tarp because it absorbs so it's not like a slip and slide under the truck, but either or. Maybe both. I use mainly use cardboard so I'm not grinding gravel into my back.

If you're mechanically inclined enough to keep a 21 year old truck on the road FF should be no problem.
