That’s one hell of a machine. I have a cheap Consew walking foot for canvas work.

Thanks, I had the results a couple of weeks ago. No change with the heart valve. Doc wants to keep monitoring it. He wants me to wear a monitor for 48hrs to see my heart rhythm. I get that in 2 weeks.
I hope you get good news.

I have a Brother machine now and its about to hit 20 years old. It wasn't all that fancy when it was new but its been good to me, never caused any problems. I do feel like its holding me back now and I've been thinking about buying something new for a couple years now. Just a big price tag. Might have to talk to Santa and see if I can get an advance on my Christmas budget.

cool beans! you are auto cad & all that fancy stuff! the new ways with the digital pen & all that are super cool. its just generations newer than how we learned.

so the new machine is for you as hobby use, not part of your day job. looks like you are a quilter? or an upholsterer?

my use of the machines is for removable insulation covers in the industrial application. Juki was always top of the line, but the Pfaff machines are really good. Consew are something you want to avoid.

will check out that bernia link & see what its all about. guessing that since you are auto cad & so on in your regular work that these fancy new sew machines are probably programmable & digital? quite interesting.

you have some very varied interests! never a dull moment!

thats one of their mid level machines. they get fancier and pricier!
I learned with a T square and pencil. Actually kinda liked doing it that way, definitely an art to it.
and yes, hobby. i make quilts and things when i can't camp. helps me keep my sanity when i stay home. I was happy as a clam during COVID lockdown - just sewed my little heart out and had a blast. some of my stuff from the last couple years.

VSSMAN: hey bud i wasnt downing your machine. they just arent great in my line of work. we jam them up pretty bad by overloading them.

MTgirl: thats some impressive stuff! you are for sure above a "hobby" sew person.

now about that drafting & blueprinting..... yes i learned the drafting table & slide rule way back in the day. then take offs were all done on the prints by hand & with a note pad. yeah im old/old school.

if you really want the new machine? & it makes you happy & destresses you from your day job? then buy it.

    you only live once.

ok was reading up on it...... its a Swiss machine! specialized for quilting vs canvas work.

i like the cuffer (as i call it). would never have a personal machine with out it.

so for the foot lift: does this machine do that with a knee? or is it still a hand operated lift?

Good morning. Currently in the 40s on the way to a high near 60 with mostly sun. A beautiful Fall day. Have to make a run to the local Costco to stock up on some items.
