This long line was at Wendy's not too long ago; I accepted two orders amounting to less than $7 but then cancelled after finding the lobby closed and the drive-thru backed up. I got another order for $6 or so and accepted it too, but after waiting in line for several minutes, I ended up canceling the cheaper order when the drive-thru lady told me I would have to circle around and get back line because the order wasn't ready; I shitlisted the Wendy's in Doylestown a couple years ago because of the asshole employees, and I will NEVER go to another Wendy's again after 10pm because of my most recent experience...

 

No way in hell I was going to the back of the line for six bucks...

 

So you were working as a Dasher or just at Dunkin as a customer?

 

I tried signing up for Amazon and they will not let you use a pickup truck even with a cap or tonneau cover; I also did some research, and based on that research, I would never work for Amazon...

 

I can imagine the clientele you get as a dasher….too drunk/lazy to drive. I’d have probably been fired my first week dealing with the laziest of the lazies lol

 

I always try to document the funnier and more lighthearted stuff I see during dashes, like a teenager in an inflatable shark costume at a school (I dropped off Chinese food for a night custodian)...

 

This is one of the underhanded things about DoorDash that pisses me off. They have you thinking that you will earn a $200 bonus just for getting somebody to sign up. Then, you read the fine print and realize they have to complete 280 deliveries in Philly; I absolutely refuse to Dash in Philly for numerous reasons...

• Crime
• Lack of parking
• Lack of public restrooms in many places
• A large population of assholes

I would not want a friend Dashing in Philly, either...

 

Every time I think that I have encountered every possible rage-inducing scenario while DoorDashing, something happens that takes me by surprise; I went to this Mexican/pizza restaurant in Chalfont that seemed to have a ghost kitchen called Mattia Pasta; I have picked up DoorDash orders at two different restaurants in this same shopping center, and I took this order because it had a guaranteed payout of almost $11.

When I showed up, I couldn't find the restaurant. The shopping center is more than half vacant, so I thought maybe it was out of business; I've accepted order before and ended up at restaurants that been closed for weeks...

So, I walked into the bar next door and was directed into Tu Casa. The women at Tu Casa initially claimed to not have any active DD orders, and certainly not one from the customer I was picking up for. One of them finally looked at the computer and realized there was an order for this woman...

If you look at the screenshot, you will see the order was supposed to be picked up by 4:43 and it was 4:50 when I took the screenshot. The women asked me to give them 5-10 minutes to make the order; I then looked at the order a bit closer and realized that the customer was all the way in Telford! The food had to be delivered by 5:27 if I remember correctly, and it wasn't ready yet; I once got a violation for being more than ten minutes late to the customer's house because the restaurant I picked up from was late, so I just unassigned the order and left...

 

Tu Casa is one of only three restaurants that I have shitlisted due to undesirable behavior on the part of the staff. The most noteworthy example is Slack's Hoagie Shack on Route 611 in Warrington. The blowhard who owns the place holds the distinction of being the only shop owner who gives a shit if a dasher has an insulated back to put the food in. The owner of Slack's flipped out on me the first time I picked up an order there, but ultimately let me take the food.

Another time when I went there, I had a HUGE warm bag that was secured in my front seat with the seatbelt. This was very cumbersome and I wasn't about it take it out of my truck and carry it inside; I got into a huge argument with the staff because I didn't have a bag with me, only getting the food after going back out to the truck to take a picture of the bag with my phone, and then showing these assholes the picture. Needless to say, I now decline all orders from Slack's Hoagie Shack.

On another note, you can't turn right into the parking lot of this place if driving south on 611, as there is a barricade there. You have to turn around in a parking lot to get going in the right direction. If the order is headed north towards Doylestown, it's fine, but if it's going south into Warrington then you've gotta make a left turn and turned around to get back in the right direction...

 

On another note, I rarely come face-to-face with customers. Even nearly four years after COVID started, most customers seem to prefer the "leave at my door" option...

I have lived in Central Bucks since July 2005, and in Warrington since March 2016; I can confirm with utmost certainty that there are plenty of Chinese places in this area. Why in the hell would you order from a place in Lansdale?!?!

 

And the customer was a girl who looked barely old enough to drive, and of course she didn't tip!

 

Better food? Lower prices? Friends with the owners?

 

I was mostly pissed that she didn't tip her Dasher...

 

I got an $18 tip on one order today, and it turned out to be the $2 million mansion with the blue G-wagon in the driveway! This is the same house where my truck barely made it up the steep driveway during a snowstorm, and where the owner's wife came out to take pictures of my truck when I had it decorated for Christmas almost two years ago!
