Hey peeps! I recently removed the dash on my 1999 Tacoma sr5 4x4 to replace the heater core. After I got the dash back in and started putting in the radio I noticed a couple of connectors that were not connected to anything. I have searched hi and low across the interwebs and can’t find anything. Any idea? I’ll get a photo of the other one and post shortly.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
    Anything that has never worked??

Has your radio been replaced with an after market system that did not use the factory harness.

Any other options your truck does not have?

Is this harness over close to the left door post??

Everything works as far as I know. Still has factory radio. This connector is directly behind the ashtray.

The harnesses were mass produced as it was cheaper so there are a lot of random plugs that may have not been in the specific package of the truck at the time of purchase.

That's in the passenger footwell near the center console, right?

Based on the wiring diagram for 1998, that looks like the "auto antenna relay" connector. Wire colors are slightly different (which isn't out of the ordinary for a different model year) but the connector shape and location look right.

Individual Wiring harnesses were made to fit a wide variety of vehicles. Tacoma's, 4 Runners, etc, which each may have different options. I am certain there is some wiring for ABS, even though my Tacoma has no ABS.

Unconnected connectors I have found on my 2000 PreRunner ExtraCab:

Clock-Found one Craigs List, plugs right in
Four Runner Lighting around ignition lock, lights when door opens, goes off 7 seconds after closing-Bought one off of Tacoma World - Plugs right in.

Dont forget cruise control, bought all the components from a wrecked 98, plugged everything in and push the button on the end of the C/C stock and bingo, the green CRUISE light lit up on dash and works as advertised. Now if only it was prewired for power windows!.
