Lolol just was talking to Mike too. No cabinet for me takes up too much space from interior.

It's set at intro pricing for next few days pricey to replace original units but includes all new covers too. Included on new campers going forward

Yeah I was texting with him a day or two ago about them. I am not getting one either cause of the space they take up vs how we are planning on utilizing the space.

    Little after hours tinkering..
Picked up a new EPS carry to replace my 407k.. so making another revised optic plate/filler plate for my P320. The first one was super basic and machined out of 416 Stainless. This new one has some anti-rotation bosses I added as well as being machined from 6061 Aluminum.

Yeah... now they have their name in/on everything.. and slacking on the QC and customer support. We're slowly switching out all our HAAS' to Doosans.

Is that the same footprint as a RMR? I also have a 320, but prefer Trijicon over SIG Optics

It's slightly different IIRC. I run RMR's and I agree that I prefer Trij, but they're kind of sleeping on the rest of the market, which is catching up with a lot of the "quality of life" features. For instance the integrated BUIS is a great feature on that Holosun.

I haven't experimented with any other brands b/c I'm not sure that running out to switch to a closed emitter makes sense in our climate. At least for now. You got dust in your open emitter, you can blow on it. We're profoundly unlikely to find puddles of water in our open emitter optics and get starbursted.

It ain't worth shitcanning a perfectly good $400-$500 RMR just because of the open emitter. Plus you have to win the lottery for a chance to fistfight someone over a freakin Aimpoint Acro.

Well, I'm in WA now so my conditions have altered from a year ago. I'm not stuck into a particular brand, so hearing real-world feedback rather than a YouTube talking point that's repeated from other videos is valuable.

No, it's a modified RMS footprint.. that's why I made the filler plate/adapter. Technically the mount holes are the same.. so I can mount them straight to the slide (both the Holosun 407k and Holosun EPS Carry) but it leaves a gap and sits that much lower. My P320 (sub compact) is DPP cut from factory. I've gone down the rabbit hole of mounts/adapters so many times.. it gets so messy. Optics-trade.com has a ton of good info and dimensions. It's where I pulled a lot of the Dims I needed to make this new plate. The first one I just reverse engineered.. so it wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. This new one is titties. There are companies out there who make adapter plates, etc.. but not exactly what I wanted. I didn't want rear sights.. because I can get just a tiny bit of co-witness with how I have it set up now. Just personal preference and wants at that point.

Ornaments.jpg Prior to Thanksgiving, yes. But we do not care. I stopped collecting these StarTrek ornaments years ago. But stupid sentiment tells me I cannot lose them all. Though I do have duplicates of Sisko, Worf, Defiant. I do like the Defiant though ... much cooler design than any of the Enterprise versions ...

Interesting... just had what I'd say is my first "major" issue on the 4Runner.

Did a tire rotation today and at 30K on the clock almost exactly, my rear rotors look like this:
    20231104_124638.jpg

Haven't noticed any issues or noises but we're clearly in the realm of turning down. My guess is I'm gonna pull those OEM semimetallic pads and see strips of adhered metal where each one of the grooves are.

Brembo rotors with that fancy ass UV coating are slick as hell and cheap so screw it, it's Akebono ceramic pads (off brand TRD, just without orangey red paint) and Brembo rotors from RockAuto.:bananadead::spending:
