I’m really liking the silver color on this gen more than I usually do. I think a mild lift and larger tires will really help the overall look of these rigs too.

Ford lost me by keeping the Ranger auto only. Never getting one and will wait for the right 25/26 TRD Off-Road 6 spd instead. If they offered the Bronco 2.3 7spd combo in a Ranger, I wouldn’t think twice about switching.

I gotta hand it to Toyota for keeping the manual available on the 4th gen. Everybody on here was swearing they would can it. I think it will pair well with new new engine.

They moved on from that, now they are complaining about under seat storage and flares

Yep, all the experts did lol. Can’t believe it, but watching engineer interviews, Murica fought HARD for it and made the pencil neck bean counters shut it. I hope the new 4r gets it too, since the new cruiser won’t. Engineer said 15% buy sticks, not even 5%.

I watched that one the other day. The guys legs are jammed into the seat and he says “it’s not uncomfortable at all”. What a joke. Who wants to sit like that for more than 30 seconds? How about someone takes an effing tape measure and measures the 4th gen and a 3rd gen. Is that too much to ask?

All these fancy ass “tNgA” redesigns have pissy rear legroom. Dunno if it’s different for the tundy, but definitely on cars and suvs. Not sure what yota is doing tbh.

That would help differentiate it from the new LC. I’m genuinely interested with what they’ll come up with for the new 4r, they sell ridiculously well for such an old platform. I like the fact that the LC will still be made in Japan.

Meanwhile every small sedan and cute Ute has more rear legroom than these trucks. Why?

New LC feels like a higher end new 4r to the point, maybe the next 4r might be a stepdown and just a Taco with a bedcap like the Seq/Tundra? Only way this works i guess.

No. It’s the TRD off-road shown in the video.

It’s wild how that happens at all, but i’ve heard some lex models have crappy legroom now and didn’t before.

I sat in Subaru’s Solterra EV and the Crosstrek Wilderness at the ski expo today. Their interiors are effing amazing. I can’t wait to see what the interior of the Tacoma and Land Cruiser are like but I don’t think they will come close based on all the other Toyotas I’ve ever been in unless Toyota really stepped up their game.

Yeah too bad they didn’t offer a manual in the Ranger, almost bought one over my Tacoma. It was more about timing than anything, at the time Ford was 6-8 months out on delivery, Toyota had my 3G in 5 weeks. Could spec the Ranger more to my liking than the Taco, not a huge deal though. Have been driving Toyotas for 30+ years why change now?

Highly doubt Toyota will offer a manual in the trim and cab configuration I want. They already did that with a 3rd Gen. Wanted a SR (or SR5) AC V6 manny. Only way to get a manual in the AC is in the Sport, didn’t care for that trim it’s an extra $3-5K just to get a manual, plus would have to change out the wheels and suspension. Probably the hood too, not a fan of the skewp.

My favorite cab config is the AC and they shit canned that. Don’t care for DCSB, so that means would have to get the DCLB in the SR5 trim, extremely unlikely they’ll offer a manual in that. Sure do miss driving a manual, get reminded of that every time I jump in my 1st Gen.

I never understood why we never got the access cab long bed Trd off road, while Canada still got it?

Only reason I have a dcsb now, is for commercial use.If my commercial use didn’t include the need for a double cab, definitely would’ve gotten an ACLB.

I don’t like sport much outside of Gen 2, but toyota forced it on us buyers for weird reasons.

The dude in charge of trim level decisions on gen 3 was an asshole and hopefully got shitcanned, because it got better for gen 4, but now ACLB is gone in place of auto only XtraCab.

They love to complain, but never acknowledge improvements. Is the under seat storage that substantial on the DC versions? My AC under seat storage is alright but nothing to brag about. I’ll gladly take the 9.5 inch rear diff, fully boxed frame, disconnecting sway bar, low end torque, ability to easily fit 33s any day of the week. You know, actual improvements to an off-road platform.

Tried talking the wife into me getting a Suby for my commuter, and she take my 3rd gen. My commute is 40 miles round trip, hers is 3. Figured a good way to keep miles off the Tacoma. She wasn’t buying it, she hates Subarus for some reason (well the reason is she doesn’t want to look like the typical middle aged lesbian, lol!) hell, I would be the main driver, not my fault she is middle aged woman with short hair… lol!

Would have bought an ACLB TRD manny in a heart beat.

Don’t particularly care how Toyota specs their trims. But it is what is. Little cheaper to get my SR to how I like it, than it was a Sport. The compromise was no manny. Don’t hate the auto, but don’t love it either.

Could make a DCSB work, however there are times I bitch that the 6’ bed isn’t big enough. Kinda have my eyes on getting a Tundra next DC 6.5 or 8’ bed. But since the 4G has grown on me, going to take a hard look at the DCLB SR5.
