I have ridden some in Wyoming and it is the middle of nowhere. Some really beautiful country but it is desolate. Stay safe Adam.

For sure. I'm not a major risk taker. I like boring rides. I'm not even a huge fan of twisties.

What? I love twisties! When we were in West Virginia in September I drug right side footpeg while 2-up. Of course I also love long distance riding and rallying. No dirt experience though.

I think they turned out pretty good. Blends well enough they can stay on full time.

Keep in mind, the sum total of my riding experience is split between being brand new to bikes riding a 1312cc cruiser with a helmet that was too small, eating shit on it half a dozen times over the course of 600-ish miles, a 5+ year gap of no riding at all, and now the 550 or so miles I've put on my CB500X this summer. I'm still super green and getting over not liking the way leaning felt on the cruiser.

Wow, that is a pretty short riding resume. I'very ridden since 1985 and recently tried to figure out my lifetime mileage to date. Ballpark estimate is around 310k miles. Owned 9 street bikes so far but working for a dealership can't count how many other bikes I've ridden.

100% it is. That's why I'm not big on twisties. I'm a noob.

NGL, kinda jealous of that. I wish I had been a bit more rebellious in my youth and gotten a motorcycle decades ago. I look back and I missed out on a couple decades I could have been riding. Could have been awesome, but at the same time, the upright position of the adventure segment is really what I've fallen in love with so I don't know that I would have enjoyed it as much until the more recent years anyway.

My first bikes were sport bikes so it's only natural that I got into riding twisties. Got into riding as a way to go a lot faster than any car I could afford and yet get reasonable fuel mileage. Had a 1971 Dodge Challenger with a built 340 that ran high 12 second quarter mile but a 650 street bike cold do that easily. Once I got my first bike it was all downhill for me on bikes. Parents did not approve at all.

I need to wash mine too, but man, I do NOT miss chain maintenance. I serviced it every time it got wet.

Yeah, I hate the chains. Next bike has to be shaft drive for me. I was spoiled with my first bike in that regard.

I rode the RC 390 through some of my favorite twisties for the first time and oh boy it is so fun. I was following a friend who is pretty fast and other than the straights I was able to keep up at what I felt was a comfortable pace (didn't outride any corners, etc). The bike feels like it has a lot more potential than I could ever reach but it also doesn't feel like I have to fight it to ride it at what I consider to be fast.

Only real scary moment was when I went over some gravel in a turn and slid a bit (but kept it in my lane). Otherwise today was a giant amount of fun. :)

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

I had a friend who got into dirt bikes when I was about 15 or 16 and he showed me enough to be able to putt around an open field near our homes. Several years later I traded a car to a coworker for his bike. My first bike I honestly had no business being on. 1981 Kawasaki GPZ 750 with a Wiseco 900cc big bore kit, flat slide carbs, and Yoshimura header. Got me learner's permit and rode that around a little then somehow managed to pass the driver's exam on it. The following Spring I traded that bike in toward a Honda VF500F Interceptor and took the MSF riders course. Taking that course was one of the smartest things I'very ever done. That very likely kept me from harm far more times than I realize.

What’s up everyone- new to the forum. I use my Tacoma quite a bit for transporting my bike to trackdays.
I’m always torn between adding a bit more lift to my truck and keeping it stock height so it’s more convenient to load my bike.
I use a 4 wheeler ramp to load up. Just thought I’d see what other set ups you all might use?

Welcome to the forum and the group!

I have a bed rack so the bike goes on a trailer if I can't ride it where it's going, but even without the rack I'd use a trailer. I am short and don't want to tip a bike out of the bed being a clumsy ass. I know that I'd do it.:D
