Sorry for any confusion: I was referring to the Access Cab configuration Tacoma in that line. 2023 is the last year it (A/C) will be offered. If I'm not mistaken all of them came with the 6' bed. Can't confirm if the 2024's will have an available 6' bed. They are easy to spot on a 2nd gen with the extra fender profile between the rear wheel and the front of the cab. The pictures of the 2024's make it hard to tell.

the question should just be if there's a 6' bed offered at all. i suspect it will be just for simplicity of frame design.

the access cab/6' bed, and 4dr/5' bed made sense, as i believe it was the same frame. the 4dr 6'bed is an elongated frame, which might make sense to discontinue. but if they discontinued the 6' bed, they would need to shorten the ac/5' bed frame as well.

one of the theories i've got as to why the 4dr 6' bed isn't offered with the manual transmission is due to the transmission/abs programming required for a lower production run model. if the 6' bed was dropped, i suspect we'll see the manual trans also become more model-specific as well to avoid the 4dr/6' bed problem in the new ac/5' bed shortened model.

Because they’re the same turbocharged motor.
Also that turbo 4 will outperform the V6 in many aspects.

I think they'll have both. Look at the distance of the fender to cab and fuel door to the cab in these pics from Toyota.com.

meh, the f-150 when it first transitioned to the ecoboost had a number of issues, both in owner expectations and manufacturing for at least the first 2 years. many early adopters really expected it to have the v6 fuel economy all the time, with the towing power of the a v8, and really lashed out when they started beating on it like a rented mule, only to get less than n/a v8 fuel economy numbers...

Basically Tundra . There is NOWAY you can tell difference between 4th gen Tacoma and Tundra without asking which one is it. A shame.

I hope 4runner will keep its unique design, its one of those trucks you can 100% tell.

Makes to me. Re: bed lengths: My son has a 2005 Access Cab with a 6' bed. Same wheelbase (127") as my DC with my 5'. The long bed DC wheelbase is: 140". I'll bet it rides and tows nice with that longer wheelbase. I searched far and wide looking for one to test drive but never found one, so I can't report how it affected the ride.

You may want to get your eyes checked. The design language is intentionally similar, but they are definitely distinguishable.

Bingo: That's the "tell". I'm also getting tripped up using the name "Access Cab" because to me it will always define the two rear-hinged suicide door configuration. I think Toyota will still be calling the 2024 with no rear doors an "access cab". To me" that's "Extended Cab". YMMV

They are offering Double Cabs and XtraCabs on the 2024s.

If I had to make a guess, I'm thinking new side-impact crash or other safety standards killed the rear-hinged access doors. Perhaps cost and design savings too.

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
Skip for a full size truck with a V8 engine then.

The 3rd gen will be fine, but it seems like you'll still be unhappy.

You'll enjoy the torque from the V8 compared to the Tacoma engines.
