Hit up the Francis Marion with some friends Sunday morning. Made me realize quick that I need some A/T tires if I want my 2wd to be capable.

Sure don't. Open diff, momentum was my only friend. Re-gear with an LSD is on the list but man is that expensive since it's beyond my ability.

So I started my truck projects this past weekend and I thought I'd make it easy and break it into chunks. I started with the rear suspension, pulled my 10yr old OME struts and replace with King 2.5 RRs but I thought I'd be able to quickly replace the bushings in my Dakar HD's. Built in '13 with the old pressed bushings. Once I pulled the front bolt and the spring popped out and I saw what I was going to have to deal with, I said F that, old rubber sleeved bushing. Had a whale of a time with straps and bottle jacks to bend and pull it back into place to stab the bolt back in. U-bolt flip kit had to get removed to finagle everything back into place so what "should" have been like a 3-4 hr job max for both sides turned into a 7 hr ordeal. I didn't undo the other leaf spring so that side went in quickly. What I need to do now is purchase a 21 or 22mm 1/2" deep well socket to make removing the U-bolts easier. Frustrating. I have the replacement OME poly bushings waiting on when I want to tackle completely removing the heavy Dakar springs and press out the bushings. Meh.

Plan for next weekend since it's a long one:
-New SPC UCA install (replacement bushings and UBJs cost nearly as much as a new UCA)
-Replace LBJs and bushings with Mevotec TTX
-Replace passenger side CV axle with Napa axle (rebuild kits are B/O nation wide)
-Install Kings 2.5 RR up front / pull 10 yr old OMEs
    -Pan drain/fill trans fluid
-Drop drive shaft and replace carrier bearing with OEM
    -Front diff drain/fill
-Replace O2 non-foulers due to rust
    -Sand/polish headlights back to clear
-Rotate tires (maybe, depends on how I feel, alignment will be due after all this work so I may just pay Firestone to rotate)

I like working on the truck but damn my body hurts so much after it. Lots of squatting and bending. Definitely going to get a 2 post lift when I retire to get the truck higher into the air. I'm looking forward to it but not looking forward to dropping all the steel armor under the truck to get access to the underneath but it'll give me time to grind and repaint. Gonna be a long weekend. I did notice that one of the Kings in the rear had a small amount of oil on the body of the shock. I hope that it was just left over and not leaking. I don't know how they build Kings, if it's from the top or where the inner rod enters the shock body. If they unscrew the top of the shock then it might be an issue because that's were the fluid seems to be originating from. I'll just monitor over the next few weeks. I'm also chasing a rattle that sounds like it's coming from the passenger side of the truck. It's prevalent when the throttle increases slightly above idle, seems to be tied to RPM. While under the truck, I did notice that my Wicked Flows muffler has a crack at the back of the can that follows the weld. That might be the source of the rattle. Ugh. 11 Years on that exhaust is decent but it may be good to replace from the Y-pipe back. The URD pipe looks fine but I wont be able to check it better until that armor gets dropped. I'll replace the Vibrant performance resonator at that time as well with one that's more sized for my exhaust. I think I got 3" in/outlet, I'll step down to 2.5" so I don't have to do any shenanigans with the piping. OK, that's enough for now.

I guess I should have followed up with my previous post, does anyone recommend a decent exhaust shop in the Summerville / North Charleston area that could spark up a Y-pipe back exhaust if I gave them the muffler & resonator?
