    Very nice new shoes!

What's the tubular bar setup that's peeking out from the bottom rear?

That looks fantastic, I am also curious how much the new setup weighs vs the old. Amazing how a set of wheels can totally change the look of a vehicle. I dig it

    Thanks Eddie!

That's my attempt at making an X brace. I must have put it on 7 years ago now. I'm sure it doesn't do anything - but it looks cool. I appreciate that you noticed it :D

    Thanks Robert!

When I switch to the winters again later this week I will have to weigh the wheels and compare, I'll report back.

So did a weight comparison -

    Winter rims and tires (V-Tec 326) - 78lbs

    Summer rims and tires (TE37s) - 75lbs

Not that big of a difference. :(

But the winter tires themselves are about 7lbs lighter (according to Google - because they are narrower). So given that there's a bit of weight savings overall, that's good at least.

I think the difference is noticed when I switched the V-Tecs from being the summer rims - that weight saving should be around 78+7-75=10lbs. So more than 10% so that's good.

Whether or not I noticed it is another variable. The other day when it was 10 degrees colder, I did notice the extra throttle response.

Those look like a very nice grade of bolt. Ti? For SC lid or elsewhere?

Ya - cheap Gr. 2 Ti from China. I made the Engineering decision not to get a domestically made bolt because it's holding a low torque. Was going to put them in last night but just felt like lying around instead.

    Ti? Cheap? From China?

...you just bought some Ti-dust coated scrap metal bolts made by some distant cousin of mine.:cheers:

I know what you mean about getting jazzed about the smallest inane mods. I was all smiles when I got black hose clamps and replaced the SS one for my shock resis.

HAHAHA - if I could double like that, I would.

It's a good point. But as long as they look good and hold 3ftlbs I'm still not worried about it.

I figured most get it. Funny you mention that, I was looking at some cool vacuum line clamps yesterday.

Titanium manifold bolts - M8 x 10mm upgrade. I'm pretty sure they're real titanium @SUMOTNK although who knows if they meet grade specs. They're quite a bit lighter than the steel ones that came out, so, weight reduction bro.

Installed short shifter #3 - I have the Hurst short shifter plus two of the URD spacers. I love it and so did my friend who helped me with the welding.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
Does that ground reference on top of the S/C go straight to the Chassis? Was there a specific reason for that or just part of upgrading all the ground points (Big 3 or 5)?

Straight to the chassis yes. Just another ground connection, I haven’t done any other upgrades except for a 00 wire between the alternator and the battery.

Does that extra SC ground do anything helpful - that could be up for debate. But I think it looks cool.

Decided not regearing right now. I do have the FRS Torsen sitting on my shelf though, so I'm thinking just put that in before winter. Now I need peoples' suggestions for how to explain to my girlfriend why my truck was in the shop for more than a day and what safety or repair reason justified the upgrade.

    Few random suggestions:

Just say your truck was at the strippers but you wanted to be with her instead (only works if you spent the day with her).

Or your truck was sick and had to go to the truck doctor.

Or that your truck was at another photoshoot.

    Wheel rebalancing.

    haha.

#1 is good but for humorous purposes. My wheel does need to be fixed as well…

I was thinking tell her I’m getting some driveline vibes (not actually a lie although probably nothing that actually needs looking at). And I’m taking it to a driveline shop for diagnosis. Then they find diff issues that need a couple days.

So no work was done on the truck? Something came up that cancelled the regear?
