So many trails all around an hour from the house. National forest and BLM land is just vast.

Thanks to my one cousin-in-law that I no longer associate with, I got to shoot lots of big 50 because he was a reloader and hoarder of ammo. Put it this way: for deer hunting during rifle season I shoot a 30-06 cartridge somewhere near 180 grains out of an old family heirloom sporterized A303 which is a bit spicy on your shoulder. 50 cal is a bit spicier, but to me the worst part is depending on what you are firing it from, the gas discharge/shockwave basically blasts gasses so far into your nasal cavity you'll be tasting it for the rest of that week. But it's fun to shoot for a while unless you are paying for the ammo lol.

Glad to hear things are going well out there and you are having fun! Yeah it really hits different out there how much open public space there is. Not uncommon to find shot up cars and garbage dumps which is unfortunate but that's how it is down there. And yeah you are defnitely in one of the prime areas of unlimited trails and gravel within reach of your backdoor, so much that you'll never see it all in one lifetime which is neat. Payson/Pine area is the area that really spoke to my soul, really beautiful up there. Chiricahua is a drive but you definitely have to check it out, supposedly the east side has some offroading but I don't know enough about it.

A life time exploring is right! Just looked it up and there is 12 million acres of national forest land and another 12 million acres of public access BLM land. That's crazy to think about!

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
The Chequamegon-Nicolet is huge, but still only a little over 1.5 milliion acres for reference.

Wasn't getting notifications for the thread for a few days so... Here goes

Cripes! I've never seen a whole tree up in there before lol

The 06 I worked on could've been sold yesterday.... With 160k on the clock.

    :101010:

    Point for SPC
    Point for 2.5
    Point for RXT

And another point... My Dakar mediums (OME) springs don't squeak after I fluid film between the leafs... :D

    Worth it.

    I.... Want that.

 fair enough. But shouldn't you be using fluid film anyways? Especially since you live in a snowy state

Who has two thumbs and knows that all lead springs squeak?

That's a perfect example of what happens to a persons brain when they stray from the Toyota brand of adventure vehicles.

Honestly never heard of fluid film until this summer.
Haven't had a vehicle fall apart, yet.
Might use it now that I'm aware of it.
    Maybe.

That seller is definitely hittin the pipe pretty hard. He’s selling it on stock wheels, not the ones pictured! What’s the point of selling a ridiculous show boat and keeping the showy bits?!? I want pics on the stock wheels, assuming he has tires for them.

So, was reading on another thread about guys putting a cable lock on their spare, and now I'm starting to think that's a good idea when you run with an expensive matching spare under the bed. Do any of you guys do this? Obviously you'd want it to be out of the way, but still accessible when needed.

Maybe this is just making me paranoid, but I'd hate to come out of the grocery store and not see the spare under there while walking to the truck!

Buddy of mine did and the cable lock was all seized up when he had a flat and he couldn’t get it off.

kinda pointless cuz the people stealing them were using bolt cutters to cut the hanger so it’s gonna take another 2 seconds to snip your cable.
