Everything is moving to larger screens though the Land Cruiser screen seems small.

That is with anything automotive. Vehicles themselves have grown immensely over the years.

I don't mind the screen as long as functions that are commonly used aren't buried in menus to get to. I also understand there are 2 different size screens, but unfortunately if you opt for the smaller screen, the trim pieces the manufacturer adds tend to look cheap and remind you of what could be there instead.

The LC interior looks like a better evolution of what the new Tacoma interior should be. Better screen integration with intuitive round outboard vents, instead of the vacuum nozzles on Gen4. Bonus points to LC they didn’t tack a cheesy badge on the dash in front of the front passenger.

The Gen4 digital gauge cluster looks like cartoon-grade graphics compared to the center screen, which is relatively modern, clean & crisp. Like one screen is from 2010, and the other is 2023.

A bright red starter button placed at eye level (TRD’s) is a distraction. Yet they placed all the 4WD controls right where I’d plan on spilling my coffee frequently.

Probably in the minority here, but I prefer the cool-blue backlighting at night. Some also like real leather; hopefully cloth or polyurethane (SofTex) are not the only options.

I wrotr my first post without looking at any pictures.

the lexus dash looks high to me. The tacoma looks maybe better than the lc due to the interrupted trim across to the center screen giving visibility. The high mount screen is within your windshield view, but, I turn mine off. On the 4th gen I would miss the tuning knob, but I do only listen to one radio station anymore.

the buttons / layout could be bigger if toyota deleted the screen and relocated the rear camera view.

Cue the black version of the upcoming Meso button: https://mesocustoms.com/products/push-start-button?variant=32027333886065

    We are coming full circle.

And I am sure a condom for the 4WD controls from the aforementioned supplier will be a beloved item. Another proud mod.

I guess the 14" isn't even standard? Looks like toyota is gonna charge up the ass for these "tech packages" the off-road is gonna cost upwards of 48-50k probably lmao. Everything I had seen before made me think the 14" was standard.

Yep this has been known on the this thread already. I think Toyota realized not everyone wants a big screen.

Ya I guess all the reviews I've watched I just haven't seen one. I think that, but also gives them to opportunity the charge a ton for it if you do want it.

I grew up watching a 13" TV ontop of my dresser from my bed and that seamed just fine back then. Now a 14" screen is standard fare for a pickup.

This is the SR5, so can get a nicer trim above the SR and still get the smaller screen, though the bracket is the same size. Might as well get the bigger screen. Be better for doing the split screen. Have mine set up that way, but the gps map is a bit small, like to keep an eye on traffic back ups during my commute so I can alter my route on the fly.

Well as my age increases so does the need for larger screen sizes. Weird how that works.

Test drove a Tundra with the larger screen and really liked it. Especially since I usually have the map pulled up. Like to pan out a bit so I can see what is waaaay up ahead.

Used to be an old curmudgeon and thought the old stuff was better, that is until I drive the new stuff and say to myself “hey this is pretty nice”.

Just switched to a '24 Tundra as I wasn't so happy with how much I could feel our little camper on the Tacoma. I've got to say I like the large screen. Wasn't a fan when I first saw it but it makes a difference looking at a map/navigation. Kind of a look over instead of down or putting focus on a phone. Ahead or map stays in the peripheral so probably safer overall.

My 2016 4Runner and 2021 OR Premium have Softex. I will never buy another Tacoma, and likely any other Toyota with it, if I can help it. It’s glorified vinyl. I prefer cloth.

The screen isn't terrible, the placement of it is. What really bugs me for some reason is the glaring TOYOTA across the passenger side dash. From what ive seen, I really like the interior of the new LC though

To my eyes the emblem on the dash is tacky and looks cheap. Seems like what a 16-year old would slap on their ride along with other cheap mods…
