He was a bit of a crack addict, he didn't go totally apeshit but he also didn't have any off switch, never once tired him out so he had to be outside 99% of the time and was already 2 years old. They found him wandering in a construction site so I don't think he had ever been raised by humans.

The key is to keep them entertained and active. A bored heeler is not good. Everyone told me they learn to control their energy after around 1 year, and they were right. Greta knows when its time to act crazy and when its time to settle down. Though she will test my limits often.

Having a trainer come by for a few sessions was a great thing too, Greta is super smart and took to it extremely quick. Problem was I just didnt know the proper mannerisms.

@JKO1998 if you have a fenced yard, get her/him a herding ball. Its a good way for them to drain energy without you having to be so involved.

37 lbs fully grown. Shes on the smaller side for a heeler.

we got Dex one of these based on someone's recommendation, doofus managed to get his entire jaw around the thing (bout as big as one of those toddler size soccer balls) and his teeth stuck in the holes, then couldn't release it. Started waving his head around like crazy like he thought he was gonna die, took me a bit to get it loose. Straight in the trash




those herding balls look like a better option, although they kind of look like balloons and he's scared of balloons
