One of my clients does a lot of grading and ground work so I told him to keep an eye out for a bobcat in the $20-25k range. Mentioned he had a guy that buys them at auction, fixes them up and sells them. Gave him a call and he has one for $38k :annoyed: He is going to keep an eye out for a cheaper one. Meanwhile my client just paid $122k for a new Kubota skid steer. :spending:

Thanks gents, I think this is my basic plan. Just wanted some reinforcement. I gotta figure out what to attach it to while I pry, and find an appropriate pipe. Will report back.

So I went to mulch the leaves yesterday...

Well shoot. Battery has been getting lazy for the past couple months so it was no surprise. Not too many more starts needed so I'll just keep jumping it. I love my little lithium start packs! I'll get a new battery in the Spring.

Also decided to do the oil change here in the Fall. But, the little quick oil drain thing started seeping oil this year, so it had to go. I had already pressure washed the engine/mower clean before this, that's why you don't see the staining.

I don't really use the drain thing as I have an oil extractor. But, I installed a 3/8 nipple, elbow, and plug anyways. I had to go to a couple different stores to find the right length o_O

I already know I'm gonna have to swap that filter. Wanted to try a Napa 21438, but it's a little bit longer than I expected. Stupid steering arm. I almost want to get the Kohler filter relocation kit.
Guess the snow-blower needs to come out next... :annoyed:

I got these in last week and put them on Friday, my wife ask if I could send the knock offs back through Amazon, I looked and had until Sunday to get them back, dropped them off at CVS Saturday. I didn't know but some CVS drug stores have UPS access points inside.

making the last of 72 payments on mine next week! its been an absolute beast of a tractor so far. couple tiny things, but mechanically its great!

You had not heard that before? maybe that was just a sales pitch they ran when i got mine? but ive always used it when talking to other Kioti owners. :)

guessing they didnt give you your T shirts with the howling Kioti on it when you bought your machine?

mine are pretty faded out or would send you one. See how he's howling ? yeah its corny, but it sounds better than a Kioti-ite.

Kohler question for yall, I have either a CV18 or CV19 and its got a Kohler 12 050 01 oil filter on it. Can anyone here confirm that an oil filter for a 2nd gen 4.0 will fit? I've got half a case of Napa filters for the tacoma already so I might as well use one of those if it's correct.

I use 3614 filters for all my Kohler commands.

It's the same filter that my 1st gen Tacomas use.

I don't know what filter a second Gen uses.

    Is the 3614 a napa?
I use napa 1348 on my 08 4.0l for the last 7 years or so. I was curious about the kohler cause I saw some people on BITOG saying they use a FL910 which I know is a smaller version of the FL400 which I have seen people here on TW say fits the 2nd gen 4.0l.

I use Fram, Walmart brand, Purolator. They all use the 3614 number.

I see no need to spend for the high dollar filters.

Changing the oil is more important than the filter.

I'm sure you can find a cross reference, but I see no need for what I do.

Like @RustyGreen says. These motors are asking a lot out of 2 qrts of oil.

Just read your manual and cut the hours recommend in half.

Ok, yeah I was surprised that its only 2 qts and that with 10w30 they recommend 100 hour changes, but if you use the special kohler oil they recommend 300 hours which is just crazy to me. I already do 6 month changes on my timemaster which comes to approx 50 hours, I figure I will do the same with the kohler since its runs about the same time. I should bother to install hour meters but both were bought used and I dont expect to own them for more then 2 more years.

I think the 100 & 300 hour intervals are way out of line.

My ZT with the Courage engine is going on 16 years & 600 hours using a 50 hour interval.

This was last year at 518 hours.

I use the same Napa filter on my Kohler. They're the same 3/4 x 16 thread and gasket size. You're good to go.

    Fuck!

I never gave that a thought!

    3/4 x 16?
    3416?

I am pretty slow. I should be wearing a helmet!

...oh, yeah, I did for 26 years!

Edit:3/8"x16? There is no way that nipple is 3/4"

Now I gotta go out and check!

With all that said^, there are lots of filters that work.

The flat surface that the gasket seats against is a very large diameter. As long as the filter has a 3/8" female thread, you can use whatever you want.
