    The OverTrail will be, yes.

The other models won't be *that* much more than a Taco Pro

Seeing the GX550, and the 4G Xrunner v6tt concept Toyota could realistically build a v6tt XtraCab TRD Pro.

I think your base GX550 is going to start at 65K minimum.

    You’re probably right.

Several people have told me that only douche rockets buy Lexus SUVs.

What do the Lexus owners call people that drive 27 year old Land Cruisers?

I'm just guessing that there will be at least a 5K price increase on the new one since the current one starts around 60K

I like them, (current model) and the older GX's as well.

I've been patiently waiting for the 4th gen for at least 3-4 years now. I'm glad it's finally (basically) here. But I'm with you, no interest in the first year. I'll wait for either the second or third year. Hopefully by then any real kinks will have been worked out and it'll be a super solid pickup.

I don't know if they've said they're going to do it or not, but I hope the 4th gen is going to have a full crew cab + long bed (6ft+) option. I don't like the short bed. That in the Off Road is what I'm looking for.

I've always thought that the 3rd year of a new Gen is the optimal year. You're far enough in that to have seen *real* owner feedback and all the major and the vast majority of the minor gremlins have been worked out, but you still have a lot of life left in the Gen.

The sub-model that you really wanted (but never knew existed) is also out by this time.

There have, of course, been exceptions to the year 3 rule.

If they could indeed bring a basic truck in at this price point I believe it would be an instant hit. Manufacturers have been tripping over themselves to add more frills on everything to the point that the average price of a new car in Canada is something like $66,000 (up over 20% in last 2 years) and have forgotten the lower end of the market.

I surely would have bought one instead of dumping $16K into my 1st Gen. And it still needs another $2500 worth of work. Would have be nice to get a brand new vehicle rather than fixing the old clapped out Tacoma.
