Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
And if they can carry one, you don't want to f&ck with them.

Looks good! 4000K-5000K is a good choice for a shop. LED, I assume. Are they dimmable? You know, in case you want to set the mood in there.

Appreciate it but I think my plan is summarized as follows:

    1. Tear down garage.
    2. Obtain about $30k by...uhh...anyone have a cousin Tony in the mob who needs extra help?
    3. Build new garage.
    4. Profit?

I can't argue with that. Still, you can probably improve the lighting situation in the meantime for a few hundred $$ and a day's work.

    So. Many. Stickers.
    Lug bolts are dumb.

Also the new Crown uses them.

I also can't argue with your statement. However, thanks to the lovely advice, ideas, and persuasion from this thread I never seem to have a few hundred dollars that doesn't instantly get spent on truck parts.

In completely unrelated news, I got a delivery with some new stickers and other metal things inside a box today. Lights are overrated?

Uh, $30k might get you a nice shed these days. Buddy of mine got a quote for a new 2.5 car garage and new slab like 2 years ago and it was over $40k. Quote was from the same guys that did mine like 6 or 7 years ago for just over $20k.

And you know you need to get those 10' walls so you can get a lift in there. So now you need 2x6 for the walls. And outlets every 6 feet. And insulation. And heat. A new beer fridge. Toilet? You could rent out your house and just live out there.

LOL yeah I was just throwing out a ballpark number assuming that I'm doing most of the work myself. Realistically you are right, probably more like $40-50k. And what that means is it'll probably not happen and I'll keep buying truck parts instead.

When I did mine, I was all excited to save myself money and tear down the old garage myself. I rented a big ass dumpster for like $250 and 2 buddies and I tore it down with sawzalls and crow bars and got 90% of it in the dumpster in one Saturday. We were pretty damn proud of ourselves and drank ourselves stupid that night. I later found out that the guys who built the new garage would have done it and hauled it away it for $400.

Yup, LED...and I'm all about mood lighting.

I'll probably add some accent lighting down the road as a finishing touch.

It'll all look very different in about a month or so. Would love to have some of you guys over for a christening.

When I bought my place 6 years ago, the detached 20x20 garage was in such poor condition that I couldn't even insure it. You could poke your finger through rot in the header. Exhibit A:

    20200524_185113.jpg

Fast forward a few years and lots of repairs on the home, I tapped into some of my equity and now I can move into some fun stuff.

I'm glad I extended the original footprint to a 24x20, but I still kick myself for not going with an 8 foot door.

Glad you got it working! The funny part is on iOS all the browsers have the same underlying Safari Webkit code because Apple is anti-competition, yet their own native Safari browser sucks harder than the rest.

Now you can order wireless beer delivery at the speed of a Millenial, huzzah!
