I know this has been covered alot but i cant find anything exactly like mine? It randomly was dyeing whkle driving, its a 09 2.7 standard tranny 2wd. It finally died and wouldnt start, they pulled it to my shop where i charged batt and it fired right up? I shut it off and next morn went out and it would start then die everytime, i unplugged maf and it runs just up to like 3 thou rpm. Plug maf in and it dies, so i got a new aisin or how u spell it maf put it in and same thing. I checked fuel press and it has 45 or so with no change ever? One thing changed a little, with old maf u couldnt keep it running nk matter what u tried with new one if i keep it floored, it will rev up and down over and over, if i slowly release throttle it will rev up and down all the way down to bout idle but foot off, itl die? Iv checked all i can think of, there was 2 codes in beginning, 1 was for maf voltage the other was for iat voltage, figured new .af would fix it. Nope. Now im stumped? Any help appreciated.

So you still have MAF and IAT codes setting?
Will your scan tool show live data?
Is the intake hose between the MAF sensor and throttle body intact without any leaks?
Have you checked/replaced the air filter.
Have you made sure no debris got into the MAF sensor or the housing it sits in?

Well after i got it to run awhile by holding my foot to the floor and had it rev up and down for bout 10 min to see if chk eng light wkuld come back on, it didnt, so i shut it off and did it again thinkin it may need a couple key cycles to set, it still didnt turn on. I scaned it again just to check and it says all passed ,no codes. And ya my scan tool reads live data. I did replace air filter, and tube between is solid, i tightened clamps ,i didnt look into pipe where maf sits? Ill do that in morn.

I'm curious what the MAF is reading.

I just want to be sure there isn't anything in the pipe or sensor that may be blocking or disturbing airflow, it doesn't take much. I've had several vehicles come in either not running or running poorly and all it was was a tiny bug or piece of trash stuck in the MAF that got by during an air filter swap or from an improperly installed filter.

You sure your reading grams per second (g/s) and not pounds per minute (lb/min)?
Those numbers are really low, what is your RPM during this?

What MFG did you go with. I have had pretty spotty luck with aftermarket MAFs on a variety of vehicles.

Those things are junk, you may get lucky and get a good one but I've had nothing but issues with those.

I think theirs is the same thing just in a NAPA box but you can try it, if it works I'd still get an OE sensor used or new.
Did you check the original sensor, maybe it just had a piece of trash in it.

I mean based on the readings you are getting, the fact it runs with the sensor unplugged, and the number of Blue Streak sensors I've gotten bad out of the box or failed in a couple weeks (a couple didn't even make the test drive) it sure looks like a defective sensor.

Certainly worth a shot since you need to get it going but like I said most of NAPAs electronic parts are just rebranded Standard or Doorman parts.

Not sure who makes the OE one but many Toyota sensors are made by Denso.
