Getting average mpg to show on media display

I had a 2016 Tacoma that I always had the average mpg and range showing on the dash display. Now I have brand new 2023 Tacoma. When I picked it up it showed what I wanted. Total mpg and range. Then I reset the total mpg. And now it is showing only latest mpg which is kind of useless. I know I can get the average mpg on the screen located between the gauges. But I cannot find the setting to change it on the media display and I don’t understand why it went away. I figured maybe I had to rack up a few miles for it to come back. But it’s been a couple hundred and it’s still not back. I’ve looked and every menu and even read the book. There must be a way to get it back. I even reset the system to defaults. No luck.

 

I agree, a running average mpg would be nice to have. I just assumed it was not designed to show that.

 

It was showing it. Till I reset the mileage on the center screen between the gauges. I’ve even rebooted the audio unit. Only shows latest now. Makes no sense.

 

since you just reset it, maybe it needs to build up an average for a bit before it will display that instead of "latest" again

all this talk about mpg.......just enjoy the drive

 

I dunno I kind of treating it like a game, trying to get as high an MPG as possible per tank, while not impeding my drive at all. kind of like how people try to beat their GPS ETA

 

nobody i know plays these games

 

Is that the radio or the speedo?
Also I pretty sure the one on the speedo resets every time you fill you tank.
