The wife wants to drive the new GX when it comes out to see if she wants to replace her Cayenne.

Can’t stand those guys, software techs suddenly turned “truck experts”, only watch them if there is a something I am really curious about, like that lifted silver SR5.

There's a battery company in Michigan that created a sub 15 min charge battery technology that pretty much all major car companies are testing now. It works with current lithium battery tech. deployment is expected in 2-3 years world wide. Sub 15 min 0-80% charge time. Maybe less with the upcoming solid state batts.

I have a feeling things aren’t going to work out as planned. It seems like the demand for electric cars is starting to fizzle out now that the excitement of being the first to own them has gone away. I’m seeing a ton of Teslas sitting on the lot lately and even a few Lightnings.

Yeah but at same time I am starting to see inventory of all vehicles starting to pile up...not just EVs. 257 F150s, 85 Ram 1500, 90 Silverados, 53 Tundras, 8 Lightnings, 66 Mach E, 13 BMW X5, and 63 Tacomas all listed within 50 miles of me. Those numbers should exclude the in transit ones. Also watching a few used cars for my daughter who will be driving soon....price is dropping weekly on a lot of them. One even has dropped $2k in the last 3 weeks. While I think the EV demand is easing I think we are starting to see the money problem kick in especially going into the holidays.

Teslas have a lot? I thought Tesla didn't have car lots?

Probably used. There is a lot down the road from work that has Rivians, Lightnings, and Teslas. Which tells me the honeymoon wore off fairly quick.

Not surprised regarding tesla. Quality control and fit and finish is appalling considering their price, especially now that the legacy manufacturers are entering the market in full force, no wonder they cut prices. Not to mention lying about range, and Mercedes beating them to level 3 autonomous driving. It's absurd they fumbled such a massive head start.

It's almost like hybrids and electronic vehicles with gas/diesel generators make more since then going full EV with the current infrastructure/tech....

I just saw an article about the 2025 ramcharger using an onboard gas generator to power an electric drivetrain. And a guy in Canada is working on a diesel semi that does the same thing. All the benefits of electric with a smaller battery pack, greater range, and you just have to fill it with fuel. And the engine gets to operate at its most efficient point all the time.

The dealer has a very small lot that is full and then there is a big lot somewhat hidden in an industrial area full of Teslas.

Don’t think Tesla was ever meant to be a long term company, just another investment venture for Musk, he buys existing companies, raises a bunch of hype then gets out. PayPal, Solar City, Twitter, etc…

Wonder if his antics is also part of the decline?

Toyota is just biding their time, sitting back watching the others make mistakes. They’ll release their EVs when they are good ready, then they’ll mop the floor with the likes of Musk. Mr Toyoda was and still is absolutely right about EVs. Shame he was asked to step down.
