I met the owner of this 2007 AC SR5 while me and @Stitchgirl90 were DoorDashing in the Lehigh Valley area; I was intrigued by the fact that it has a flatbed. The owner put on the flatbed so he can tow a tiny home gooseneck trailer that he built himself. He unfortunately missed the deadline for getting the frame replaced, and the frame is heavily patched. The truck has the 4.0L V6 and 6-speed stick, with like 177K on the clock. The owner is an amateur radio operator and removed the factory radio in favor of a custom console that can house his HAM radio equipment. The air-conditioner has been largely removed, but the heater is still intact and works great.

Since this truck has a clean title and the title stays with the cab, and the owner is very handy, I recommended to him that he source a frame from either a rust-free totaled truck or one that has undergone the frame replacement.

This is, without a doubt, one of the most unique Tacomas that I have ever seen!

Definitely unique, what do you mean by A/C has been largely removed?

All he told me was that he removed the A/C; I'm assuming it means he yanked the compressor, condenser, and some of the other guts under the hood. However, considering how hard it is to get to the A/C evaporator (behind the dash), I highly doubt that was removed...

I guess the double cabs are far more common...

    It’s definitely different.
    I can’t say it’s worth doing a frame replacement.
I mean, the fender flares look to be held on with screws.

I think he should keep on “Franken-Framing it”. :sawzall::welder:

    More common, yes.
But the Access Cab in not that uncommon.

The more rural you get, the more you see.
I have an AC. There were multiple new and used when I bought mine.

“Farm country” seems to get more Access Cab,
The AC is great for running farm field. Just enough room to carry supplies.
And a full size bed to haul larger stuff.

The cab is solid, the title is clean, and the title stays with the cab rather than the frame. If this guy is as attached to his truck as I am, that's what I would do; I am so glad that I got a new frame!

Does your A/C work good? The A/C in my truck will literally numb your fingers!

Not many people are attached to their truck like you. :)
And that’s not a bad thing, as you certainly keep up on the maintenance better than most.

    Me, ehhhhhh
The only reason I’m attached to my truck is because I know what I got and I know it’s history.
I would sell it if I could find a good well maintained full size at a reasonable price.
But you can’t find that in my area.

Yes, except for one weird instance a couple years ago.
When I first hit the A/C button after not using it all winter, it didn’t want to “work”.
Which was super weird, because any time you use the defroster, it uses the AC.
Anyways, it started working on its own after about 10 mins.

Been great since. That was 2 years ago.
I posted about it on here. Best we can figure, it was just one of those “electronic glitches”.
    Never had the issue since.

    It’s working now.
I’ve fixed enough stuff until I broke it.
I believe I’ll wait until it stops working.
