Why can't Leaf or Bolt owners charge at home?

The Bolt sales numbers don’t seem very impressive considering they sell 200-300K Corollas a year.

Might live in an apartment. They are tossing up those stack and packs, left and right here, since a mass majority can’t afford a house.

Would make sense to put a charging station at each parking slot, but I am not seeing much.

So if you own a 25k dollar car you can't afford an extension cord? Maybe there charging close by if they have an apartment. EVeryone's situation is different. If you can't afford a house then most aren't buying a vehicle thats difficult to fuel. There's apartments near me with charging stations.

Extension cords are a safety hazzard, especially if they live on the 2nd and 3rd floor… :p

Heard that is the major complaint from apartment dwellers, want an EV but difficult to charge. Not all apartment dwellers are poor though. Some people just don’t want a house to take care of and invest their money elsewhere. Have quite a few retired clients who rent, that grew tired or no longer want the upkeep of a house. And honestly I don’t blame them, get sick of fixing stuff on ours, was just down in the crawl space looking for possible plumbing leaks. Didn’t I just fix that!? :p

Well apartment dwellers can use public chargers if they cant charge there. Problem solved.

Many more than 5 years ago and new infrastructure monies are bringing even more. But if someone buys an electric car and then realizes they have no place to charge they shouldn't be driving at all.

And if the vehicle’s batter is dead? Push it to the public charger? Have a tow truck with a diesel generator?

Yup. Push it to the charger then sit there in the car for a few hours while it charges. Sounds like a blast.

How much do you guys think this truck is going to cost? The interior is pretty nice. I like the saddle bag style pockets behind the seats. A regular 1794 with a TRD off-road package added is $74K. What will this be $90K?

I'd say $85k at least, 90 sounds about right. Then add the market adjustment.

I live in the most electric car friendly place on the damn planet. There are little to no public chargers and the ones you do find are always occupied. Nobody is going to rewire a public garage with 400-1000 spaces to have a high current charger at every parking space. It’s not going to happen.

Of the three grocery stores we go to in town, none of them has an electric car charger.

Oh and that plan to build gas station like public charging hubs everywhere. I know where the only one is. It’s in Lost Hills next to the McDonald’s.

1000 spaces? I don't think anywhere on the planet has 1000 chargers in one spot.

Also even if there were chargers you would have people parking at them and not charging. Went to an outlet mall last weekend and they had probably 20 chargers throughout the parking lot in various places. If the 5 I was able to get close to all 5 had Teslas parked there and not charging.
