What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I know how a lot feel about replacing OEM lights here, but I was on a mission to change em out. For anyone wanting to see Alpha Black Tails and Morimoto 3rd Brake on a 2nd Gen Pyrite. May smoke the Morimoto's clear with glass gray, nothing dark for legal reasons. Time to clean her off and restore some of the black plastic trim after years of sun baking.

Thanks again for the poke in the right direction. I have to rip the wires out of the old fog light. Then send them that photo of the light basically destroyed, then they're sending a new one. Way better than $200ish for new.

 

Thanks for the info. I'm still trying to decide if I want the 05-11 or 12-15 bumper. My truck is a 14, not sure I like the idea of cutting the stock bumper just to fill the gap, or go with the 05-11 bumper and have to do some modifications to make it work. But it does look better as far as gaps go.

 

Well, once you install the bumper, you have to drill two holes in the sub bracket to permanently lock the angle of the bumper. Meaning it's mounted to your truck and your truck alone. So there is really no going back or selling the bumper after that. Since you can't go back you might as well get the 12-15 bumper and cut the plastic bumper.

Just my opinion. The other option would be to look at the price of replacing the cut bumper vs replacing all the modified components below the bumper and grille and see what is less and just go that route.

Backed into one of the poles at the gas station. That's what I get for being in a hurry. I was running late to a dinner, had to still go home, change and drive another 30mins. Ugh. .

Im trying to convince myself, that it isnt too bad. Might be time for a rear bumper with fender guards, too late on that side though.

 

Man I did something similar last week. I backed in to a guy wire for the power pole beside my house.

 

I heard the crunch sound and played it off cool to the other people pumping, like "Eh" but I was crying inside.

Have you tried using rubbing alcohol to get some of the paint off? I was able to remove the paint of the pole off mine, what you see is paint missing cause it went down to the metal.

 

Thats not paint its the primer and bare metal under my paint .

 

A Magic Eraser will take off the paint transfer and clean up the surface. It will also slightly scratch the paint making it look a little dull depending on how long you use it. But that dullness can be easily correctable with some paint correction products.

 

There's mountain roads in WA that will overheat your truck in the middle of winter. The traffic in the Seattle area is bad enough to cause overheating. I'm not to familiar with that because I live in Washington, not Seattle.
