Is there any plan to/is the tune actively being refined? The reason I ask is the jumpiness/jolting behavior when accelerating from a stop and also when slowing down and then speeding back up. My truck during these times jolts/lurches forwards and I was wondering what the origin of this is and if there are plans to tune this out. 2017 3.5 with OTT on lite throttle.

Out of curiosity when were you originally tuned?

Make contact with your tuner or reach out to indo@overlandtailor.com if you bought files direct from us. We’ll confirm you are on the latest (which did address the areas of concern), and/or make a custom throttle variant for you to address your specific concern.

No update to the tune. However, we did add some additional throttle settings in June that I think will suit you much better.

As mentioned, reach out and we’ll get you taken care of. Be that an alternate throttle setting or something custom for you.

What throttle levels did you go with? Medium used to give me the same sort of problems with jolts/lurches at low speeds. I ended up checking my ATF level and found I was 9-10 oz low. When I topped it off, everything smoothed out. I still get some occasional jerkiness but no where near before

I have the same, is it jerky on both settings? Lite has always been smooth but until topping the ATF I avoided medium like the plague unless I was already up to highway speed

Yes jerky on both but more pronounced on medium. I notice it most in parking lots and on my commute I go over several rail road tracks and when I come down the backside of the tracks going downhill the revs raise trying to slow the truck down and then as I get back on the throttle that’s when it jerks most

Got the updated tune flashed and it’s significantly improved. Stuck with same lite/medium. Jerkiness nearly gone

Response is lees jumpy if you use your toes lower on the pedal instead of the natural use of the ball of your foot on the middle of the pedal. Learned that with an old GMC 10 ton dump truck. If you used the ball of your foot on the brake pedal the air brakes would put you into the windshield. When you used your toes on the pedal it stopped smooth as silk.

Got the OTT tune today. I was looking into tunes recently and came across the OTT as the likely best option for what I wanted. I was browsing the website to see where the closest tuner was, and it just so happens that Marty from ATO Tuning LLC is only an hour away from me. I contacted him yesterday and I got tuned today. I've been running a Pedal Commander for the past two years on Sport mode so I was already accustomed to throttle sensitivity. Marty was awesome and made sure I had exactly what I needed and wanted. He was riding around with me logging the file while texting to @JustDSM to get everything dialed in. I started out with the mild flash however it wasn't quite enough for me. The medium is perfect and is very comparable to the Sport Mode with the PC which is what I was used to. That's where the similarities end. The hour drive home was amazing. Third Gens are notorious for gear hunting but 2nd Gens are pretty bad too. That was eliminated. The RPMs were steady and didn't bounce around, particularly when accelerating on the fly. The power increase was very noticeable, and Marty added the K&N CAI to the mapping profile for better utilization, and possibly even more horsepower. I'll be honest, the "medium" profile on a 4.0 almost feels like a small block V8. My truck felt like it always had power at the ready and I actually had to pay attention to my speed on the way home. Like so many others have said, it feels like I got a new engine and transmission and it's fun to drive instead of an aggravation. As far as the Pedal Commander goes, I'll be packaging it up and selling it soon. It definitely has its place if all you're looking for is throttle response. A tune however will redo your shift points and patterns, air/fuel ratio, actual increase in HP and torque, as well as other refinements to the drivability of the truck. This is my first ever tune and I'm extremely happy. Overland Torque Tune is doing everything right. Two thumbs up fellas.:thumbsup:

Appreciate your business and for trusting OTT with your tuning needs. Your detailed review is also very much appreciated. 2G’s are a personal passion project for me so it makes me very happy to hear that work brings you more enjoyment from your truck.

Thanks again Justin. Between my own experience as well as the countless videos that I've watched online, everyone that works for or is contracted to tune this system is very professional, polite, and knowledgeable. It makes the experience fun and enjoyable, especially for people who may have anxiety in remapping their vehicle's ECU. Customer service is everything and you guys nail it. My truck is like a brand-new truck, and maybe it's my imagination or placebo but I think it even idles smoother now too. Thanks again!

I'm trying to get a feel for what sort of improvement I would expect with tuning. About the only thing I can compare it to is when it's in cold start and I'm going through my first shift or three; while I never get on it until fully warmed up, whatever enrichment, timing, and/or throttle response is going on there I like quite a bit - when I leave work, I pull out on to a busy road so I can say first hand it seems to pull harder at low RPM ("almost like it should to begin with"). It's a stretch, but can anyone else compare/contrast to this as well?

Have you seen this? I’m guessing yes, but if not, you may get some info on how the tune feels from her reaction.
