Oh there will be some mods all right
Lol I'm all for diesel but America acts like diesel is the worst thing that could happen to the environment. I wonder if a diesel running a constant load and rpms would still need the complex emissions systems

true story. if its designed to run at constant load, the emissions are much much lower but who knows with the epa.. probably still would want some gizmo to make it unreliable.

I like the idea of a plug in EV with a generator. It's probably simpler than a plug in hybrid, with most of the same benefits.

Battery technology definitely needs a breakthrough before EV's will be appealing to me, and probably a lot of the people I know (including this crew).

I don't know what the government has against diesel, but they really ruined diesel pick-ups with the DEF. I guess it doesn't burn as clean as gas, but it's tough to beat for towing power.

    So. Many. Stickers.
Unlimited range, but also 690 in the same sentence.

    Well ok then.

Electric vehicles have been around for 130 years....

If the EPA is going to be done and they will, and we go diesel electric, I vote that they go for a regen system. Why? Because it constant load and constant RPM, the regen system will basically never have to run because the diesels will always be cooking at optimal temperature and you won't have nasty soot build up in your filters.

Easier to avoid them with a 3rd dimension but probably more catastrophic if one finds you

    Speaking of jetpacks: https://www.cnbc.com/video/2020/05/...t-suit-and-discovered-flying-is-not-easy.html

Crazy number of videos on YouTube of demo flights, just search "jetpack" and be prepared to waste a few hours watching stuff.

All the talk about jetpacks reminds me of a fun Glaswegian band called We Were Promised Jetpacks. And it's fun to be able to use the word Glaswegian. First song I heard of theirs linked below, it's very 2009-esque in the best ways.

IMG_1392.jpg IMG_1393.jpg IMG_1391.jpg I helped out a delivery driver today who had backed onto a real soft lawn in a driveway that wasn’t big enough for him to turn around in .
We had to shorten the chain a lot as there was only about 8 feet in front of me before I would hit the house. Zero chance of getting a strap on it.
As it was I only pulled him about three feet and that did the job.
That box truck weighed about 10,500 as this was his second stop of 85 today he said .
Low range worked great and I didn’t lock the rearend but all four were digging as I pulled him ahead.
This is way nicer to pull someone out with than my old Hilux ,lol.

The guy was nice that owned the house and said he would take care of the ruts an his yard and driveway.
I got a hearty thank you from the driver also as it saved them a couple hundred dollar tow bill plus there really wasn’t any room to get a wrecker in there anyway.
