I just don't get it, is it just laziness? I mean, come on, you're given a company vehicle, the least you can do is keep it clean. The guy I spoke about, his work vehicle probably has better than a large trash bag of trash on the floorboard at any given time. However, his personal truck is clean! WTF!

I don't know if that has anything to do with it at all. My 1 year old Samsung phone will hardly charge at all on the charger in my '16; cover on or off no difference. At home, I have a multi port charger that also has wireless charging on top, my phone charges fine cover on or off. I can't say I know anyone that has a good wireless charger in their vehicle, regardless of vehicle brand.

How do you like the Alpine system? Does the 11" screen look to big or obnoxious? I'm looking at getting the same system from TGP, just wondering what you think of the system? How was the install? Did you get the Sirius adapter? TIA

Try Sygic. All offline maps. The maps even have small unmarked trails on them. Works with CarPlay.

My '16 head unit does "mute" the radio when the GPS gives instructions, wonder why yours doesn't? I like the fact that on mine I can update the maps buy purchasing a new "chip" off Amazon for ~$30. I agree the GPS in these trucks isn't as good as others, but for me, I don't have Android Auto, so the in dash works the easiest. Having to hold/look at my phone GPS is way to distracting.

Yeah… all I hear is noise… 62k plus miles in 11 months. No issues. You don’t like the Tacoma get rid of it.

This is a forum for people to post what they’ve done not bitch and whine about what might happen or how bad their truck sucks. Take that shit somewhere else.

Not. Kidding. When the dealer replaced the rodent damaged cable harness I got another free 3 months. Same thing happened again. Quit after the 90 days. Very odd.

Oh no, the fanboyz are out in force! Someone has besmirched their purchases! Don't worry, your fanboyism isn't being challenged.

I said I liked the truck. I said the people who are responsible for the head unit and everything in it suck at their job.

    Both facts.

The excuses from the fanboyz of "Uhhhh... it's a truck. It's supposed to suck." to everything are ridiculous.

lol. A little bit too much hyperbole there. My wife had a 2015 Nissan Frontier. It made it to 100K with diligent maintenance and then pretty much fell apart. That infotainment system was embarrassing, even by 2005 standards.

Neither of those are what I experienced. I'll tell you this much, it could do all of the features it advertised. The Toyota can not. I would seriously take my old system back over what I have now.

I'm not sure what "diligent maintenance" means by your standards, but I did oil changes every 5k miles, changed the CVT fluid at 100k, and it ran just as good at 150k as it did when it was new. The body looked the same. The frame has typical salt best rust but certainly no massive frame issues like Toyota hasn't figured out yet.

I’m sure there’s a thread on here for all of the audio complaints and what not. Or you could start your own. But anyway, I digress. Have a great day!

To each their own. My opinion is that it did as advertised because it had no significant features. But that’s me. We did oil changes and maintenance same as you. Got to 100K and the transmission died which according to our mechanic (and dealership) was a known issue with those trucks. After that it alternated blowing out just about every sensor in the vehicle. Not exaggerating by saying the last 6 months we had it it spent less time on the road than it did trying to figure out what was wrong with it. But, everyone has a different experience…

To be fair, I never had the Frontier and my Rogue had the 3rd gen CVT which was the generation they finally got it right. The previous gens had issues and many had to be replaced on Nissan's dime. I'm pretty gentle on vehicles in comparison to most people. My miles are mainly highway miles and I'm never in a hurry so I don't accelerate hard or break hard.

I test drove a Frontier after I test drove the Tacoma Off Road. My thoughts then are still my thoughts today. The Tacoma is a better and more capable truck with superior off road capabilities and a million times better aftermarket support. The Nissan's infotainment is much better. I don't regret buying the 2023 Tacoma. That being said, had I not been able to buy a new 2023 Tacoma with a V6 and would be stuck with the 2024... I'd be driving a Nissan right now.

This thread is about "what did you do to the truck", not "NISSAN HAS A BETTER RADIO AND I REFUSE TO START ANOTHER THREAD ABOUT JUST MY TEMPER TANTRUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Either start a different and thread an take the whining to that or just sell the Tacoma and buy a Frontier.

But clearly the last thing you did to your truck was to cry a million tears on and and kick your little feetsies on it.

No issues with Nissan here. Drove a Frontier for work in 2012 and was happy with how it handled. Gas mileage sucked but what killed it was it's turning radius. Before I got my Tacoma I test drove a Frontier thinking several years had gone by maybe they fixed that? But nope, I just couldn't do it based solely on the turning radius, which is important to me for my job as I need to make tight turns on narrow dirt roads. I even had a deal through Nissan since one of my family members is a top Nissan exec. But I ended up with the Tacoma, and I have absolutely no regrets! Pushing 130k miles with no issues so far.

There is an easy solution for this: Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX Information Thread | Tacoma World

Context to go with photo: spent a while tuning the system the previous owner installed in the Supra (just a HU and speakers) this weekend and it's a lot better than it was.. but they're Kickers and you can only do so much. Made me REALLY appreciate the Focals in the Taco on my way to work <3.
