I drive by there pretty regularly - they seem to get a lot of Frontiers. They've had quite a few lined up out front lately.

Hopefully they keep that small dealer vibe going. They were great to deal with. I found them through a search engine, and they're a good 2 hours from me. I called about the truck, they told me it was available and they'd hold it for the next 3 hours while I drove out. Told me on the phone, if you're coming out ready to negotiate, I'll save you the drive. We price our vehicles to sell and there's a reason you're coming 2 hours to see it. They were right, it was a great deal and I bought it for the advertised price. I had my F150 at the time to trade and had an offer from Carmax to buy it. I told Worthington if they could match Carmax's buy offer, I'd take it as a trade-in value. They told me straight out, if Carmax will buy your truck for that, sell it to them. I can't even resell your truck on my lot for what they've offered you. There was no BS, I drove out to test drive, put down a deposit, then went back a couple days later to pick it up after selling my truck to Carmax.

What you have detailed above rings true based upon my previous experience. I used to sell cars all the time that we did not have on the lot then start looking at other dealers to see if anyone else had one in stock. Then the sales manager would call the other dealer and swap one vehicle for the next. A fair amount of horse trading would happen on those cars as well. Of course if all trucks everywhere are spoken for then you are out of luck. But your salesperson is saying the right things and following what I would say is the correct course of action.

That's good. I told him I really didn't want to take delivery before spring anyway, so I think he looked for allocations next just to try to find something comparable as a reference to ensure they were actually being made. He did search other dealers at one point and said he saw a match about 500 miles away, but even if I did want it right away a swap with a dealer that far away wasn't realistic. He said once they get past a certain radius, the other dealer won't give them the time of day.

If he is any good as a salesperson he will ignore your comment about waiting until spring and contact you the moment he has what you are looking for. If he truly does wait until spring to find your vehicle chances are he will not be employed at the dealership at that time. Lazy car salespeople are usually unemployed. You could always search dealers inventory about 500 miles away yourself. If you found what you wanted that just turns your first drive into an adventure. But there is no guarantee that you would get an acceptable deal from the distant dealer.

I wouldn't be surprised if he does try to find something sooner, but I really don't want it before spring. At one point he asked me what the earliest I'd accept delivery was and I said end of March. He then said he'd reach out in January to see if I wanted to submit an allocation request then because that's probably the soonest they could do it without risking it arriving earlier than I want it to. He said a truck like this is unusual enough where he could see it getting into maybe May or June if they can't get an allocation request to match for a while. I told him that's fine, March is just my earliest.

Mostly, I don't want to deal with finding a winter wheel/tire set immediately for a new truck or subject it to road salt and such immediately. This truck also has warranty left until about then based on miles, and getting a few months into the year cuts down on that first year excise.

MA is in my rear view mirror permanently. I'll wait until we get settled in down in Texas and see if any of the dealers have them. MSRP is about $6.00, which seems very low, but the Ebay prices with shipping added aren't horrible, so I guess that's the price.

I'd pay more if it wasn't diecast junk. I think it's actually cast aluminum junk.

Not horrible though and IDK much about the long term on the current ones but I did like the one I had, though I'd not buy a DC.

Sounds worth driving for that quick experience as well

If it happens to happen soon, LMK what tools you need. You're welcome to swing by the house.

On the Frontier, I had 2 of the previous generation. Not a single complaint. Would absolutely consider the new one if a manual was available.

And you know, this getting old crap sucks....
Especially since the accident, I feel like I spend more time in and out of medical appointments, than anything else....

Need to find a way to make a change. Was reiterated again yesterday. As of my current findings, not really possible as of right now...

Had some snow this morning, still need to undercoat. Any tips for doing WW in the cold? Im guessing just heating up the bottles in water probably helps.

Warming the material and keep it well stirred. If it sits for a couple days it will start to thicken. So a good stirring helps thin it back down
