NWA is starting to be called Little California already. Jasper has a population of 498 people. It only takes 10% of the Californian moving in to give it 323 people.

I will say the food in restaurants is getting a lot better since the California migration started.

Out of those numbers, CA accounted for 21% whereas TX accounted for 38%...odd to use little California

Sure they're the runner up for two years straight but doesn't account for the bulk unless they just don't know how to count

 

I think we're gonna be the next Austin in the next 5-10 years, maybe even sooner. People are leaving en masse cause no one can afford to live there anymore - same with parts of Florida and most of the west coast. Apparently you need a household income of $200k to love comfortably in the Denver metro. Pretty soon we'll all just have to live in some cornfield in Iowa to afford rent lol.

 

Reminds me of those memes of back in time "why didn't I buy house in 1995 when I was in 6th grade"

 

Then again, you are quoting a relatively expensive area.

You can make $100k in CA and still own your own home and live comfortably.

Just don't look for the most expensive places to live (in whatever state you're considering). Unless you're just used to living in the nicest areas only.

 

Maybe in Blythe or Bakersfield

Plenty of places you can live in comfortably with only $100k

I really believe people that live in those backwards ass towns are just generation among generation of families that are 'stuck' there

I've met people throughout my travels (not just in CA) that have never left the city they grew up in; blows my mind

Californians are moving to the fancy areas. There are a lot of people who can work remotely moving in from Austin. One of my cruiser buds is moving to Bella Vista from Austin.

 

I'm betting they still own property close to CA; met a lot of people that claim their residency is (insert any state other than CA) strictly for tax reasons, yet conduct business that makes them a ton of money in CA.

It's smart, but gotta have extra 'fuck you' money to get that going.

Then again I'm talking millionaires.

I see a lot of Texas plates around, moreso than California. Houses are still somewhat reasonable around Bella Vista, but I wonder for how long. Not that I can talk coming from NYS, but I didn’t come with a seven-figure bank account lol.

 

Six-figure gets you by just barely huh

 

I have friends in socal I went to school with that have never traveled farther than Vegas or T.J. I don't understand it either.
