That's honestly the scariest part though. You never know if the water table is going to dry up. I was (and still am) very concerned there for a little bit when it was super dry. I even stopped washing the truck since that water comes from the cistern. Wanted to save all that water in case of an emergency.

Same here… swamp fires because it is so dry. Hot and dry. Was 80+ yesterday. We set some world records for temps and have had massive accidents from super fog (fog+smoke). I feel like I’m living in a dystopia.

Kinda reminds me of the small block Chevy days it seems everyone and there friends had to have a Small block Chevy Vega.

Drive trains self destructing left and right.

Here in SC, there are many water tables. The closest one to the surface is 16 feet where I am, which is why no one has basements lol.
My well is 64 feet deep. One neighbor about 1000 feet away from me is 180 feet. Another neighbor is around 100 feet, but a guy a quarter mile away is 500 feet. They drill down and look for a nice non silted pocket.
My 180 foot well neighbor has lived there since 1979. One well, one pump and he waters his big garden.

I saw the news about the swamp fires and that super fog traffic crash on the Pontchartrain Causeway. Crazy that a swamp can dry out enough to burn.

Talking about riding the school bus.

When i first started things were strange by today Because of so few kids all the ages rode one bus then from The High School we got shipped to the elementary school a few miles away.

The worst part back in the day The No Smoking rule was not enforced to me smelling like that all the time sucked .

I hated riding the bus then about 6 years later The busing started lets mix the upper middle class and rich with the inner city and project kids.

As soon as I could drive I put myself out on Co Op at a Gun Smith Shop I learned far more there then in school .

I never was sure if I had enough credits or not . I got in with the Millwrights and never looked back

It almost looks like they built a firetruck out of an old M925 5-Ton truck.

I may have one you’ll want… got it when I was picking up something for a friend. Will post pics later today when I locate it. (I meant to do it before I got sidetracked).

Yea, it’s that forrest bed layer that compacts and decomposes. Folks refer to it as the peat layer. It smells like ass when it burns. To me it reminds me of electrical components overheating. Terrible for allergies/sensitivity. I took this picture in some of it one mid-morning…

Seriously, good for you for taking him in. Sometimes a drastic change in environment is needed to grow up.

Good morning everyone :hattip: Don’t forget to thank a Vet.
