I figured as much, probably more around back. But from the pics guess maybe 50-60, just glanced at it though.

Assuming the allure is slipping from the Tesla, have a few clients that have them, sure they are quick, but seem like a tossed together massive POS to me, certainly doesn’t scream luxury to me. Not that I am into the status quo, if I were definitely wouldn’t buy a Tesla. Beemer, Merc, or mostly likely a Lexus instead. Those feel like luxury to me. Tesla feels like a vehicle that some fanboy was that was hornswoggled into believing the hype from their God Manchild figure.

I can give you and Thang the address if you want to meet up and get an exact inventory count since it appears to be so oddly important to this discussion.

Sure. Maybe we can get a good deal on Teslas if we buy three of them.

Dude. Just man up and admit that you were wrong about no Teslas on the lot. I’ll buy you a beer when we go to pick up our Teslas.

I wonder if the Max will have an "ICE inhibit" button for moving the vehicle short distances (out of the garage, to change parking spaces in a flat lot, up to the bus stop, etc.).

I believe that electric/hybrid is no doubt the future, however folks aren't all going to get on board until the prices come down. I mean the electric car market right now for something descent looking is $40k and up.

Companies have to make something that gets a good range, looks halfway descent, and is affordable to the masses ($27k-40k). If such a vehicle existed gas stations would all be putting in chargers tomorrow.

    ^^^^this.....

The market is driven towards making them an expensive "elite" type vehicle...

I like exotic cars just as much as the next guy. But the average person is looking for something sub 30k. That market isn't targeted at all

Not sure if it can do that but Jeep is going to have a 4XE Gladiator in 2025 so that may put some pressure on Toyota to make a plug in hybrid Tacoma.

Doubt it, my aunts Prius has that, can use it under 20 mph. I played around with was kinda cool, but you had to be conscious to use it, and noticed I’m rarely in a situation to drive 20 mph. Maybe in a store parking lot, the distance is so short and quick, would forget to hit the button.
Reading up on the Tundra hybrid (the Tacoma will be the same) honestly don’t see the point of it. Doesn’t improve mpgs, can’t power your house with it like the Ford, can only use it for short burst of power like passing on the interstate as it isn’t intended for long durations since the battery would get depleted. Plus not a PHEV.

More like an expensive novelty add-on.

Do you know what would have been a simpler and cheaper way to add more power. A bigger engine! :D

On the Tundra, the hybrid NiMH battery pack has the same capacity as two Northstar lead acid batteries, so it will be indeed very short distances. You'll get similar range in a MT 3rd gen Tacoma if you put it in gear and drive it forward with the starter...

Which means less mpg. The hybrid is more power with the same of better fuel economy.
