    Morning all.
    Semper Fidor
    50 years since I was in/out.

Spent half hour in one spot on the hwy , backed up for miles. Crossed the divider and went home. They had already changed my final eye exam til the 27th by the time I called.
    I did score Rio cookies.
I was in bed by 8pm. So of course I woke at 0300...lol.

I missed the starting gun...stage 4 already when they found it. But upon meeting me face to face it has receded to nothing.
    For now.

I got the airplane rejects the wife made on the first round Tuesday. They had invasion stripes, redtails, the like. She didn't care for my decorating one bit!

Started my SS and Pension at 62 1/2 late Spring.
    No regrets at all.
So OK, I get less SS than if I waited till 70, but I'll be collecting SS for almost 8 years already.
A financial guy explained it in layman's terms with a graph. 62,65,67, and 70.
All the lines even out at 77yo,or thereabouts. In the long run, it don't make a rat's azz difference.
Besides, I can croak before I'm 70 anyways and get nothing if I wait.:notsure:

I took SS as early as possible, already retired for ten years when I signed up. 70 now and no regrets...

My issue with collecting Social Security now is 85% of of will be taxed, and that will kick me up another tax bracket, and I'm already in a high enough bracket as it is. Said another way, I'll see even less of any SS check I might get now versus if I retire after I quit working in a few more years.

Come on Ken up on the rez in northern center of the state they are affectingly called lawn ornaments. Some people keep garden nomes. They aren't banned. At least you won't see an outhouse outside behind the house because the copper plumbing was taken out and sold.:rofl: it's not as common now that Pex is used.

    I don't see the logic...

You opt in now and get taxed on what you get... or you wait, get more, and get taxed on the increased amount.

I don't know how you have your retirement money organized, but if you are worried about the taxes on your SS benefits I suspect you just don't like paying taxes.

If I wait until I retire my annual income, even with the Social Security income, will be vastly lower than it is now and as such, I'll be in a much lower tax bracket as well.

Loved Westworld... The new (2016) series is pretty good too.
