Hi, I’m looking to get new rims for my 2013 Tacoma prerunner. I found a set I like but I’m wondering if a 15mm offset will fit. That’s all they have for this rim. Offset has me a bit confused so any help is appreciated.

Those are both great tools! Thank you. But how will I know if it will rub on my breaks or not?

What are the wheel and tire specs you're looking at? lots of variables to consider. Rubbing on the spindle, UCA, and bumpers is something to consider as well as clearing the brake calipers.

Same as I have on now which is 265/70 18. The rim I have now is 18x9 and an offset of 0 and it looks pretty close to the calipers already.

I thought about running spacers but I’ve read a lot of negative things about them

If that’s a +15 offset it’s gonna really close. That’s just bit more than a 5.5” backspace which it about the max back space on these trucks you can go. I’m assuming it’s a 9” wide wheel.

Hey Steve, thanks for the reply. Yes it’s a 9” wide wheel. What’s your thoughts on wheel spacers?

Can you find another wheel that you like that has a lower offset? Maybe 0 or negative?

Are you saying that the backside of the wheel face is close to the caliper? Wheel spacer are a non issue as long as they’re quality unit ( spidertrax, bora etc . And bolt on hub centric units.

What size tire are you running? Oops I see that you’re running a 265. Personally I’d run an 18x8 0 offset with that size tire if just changing wheels.

I'd avoid wheel spacers and find a wheel that does not need them. There are so many cool quality wheels that fit our trucks, you might want to take more time.

Although there may be quality spacers out there, you are adding another potential failure point, and it is increasing leverage force on your CV joints...oh wait you are 2WD but still, it is increased leverage on everything attaching the wheel to the suspension.
