Looking for an aluminum rock slider.
They will be for steps and rock protection, and once a year possible stump on a camping trip, no real rock sliding. I don't want cab mounted nerf bars. I've been all over the interwebs and through the forums over and over and can't find any made from aluminum (because they aren't ideal im sure).
Trying to save on weight since it's a commuter and I don't really need the rock sliding of steel. I really hate the look of and idea of cab mounted steps.
Does anyone still make aluminum sliders?

Check out Greenlane. They are out of Canada, so feight and customs make it spendy. Only aluminum ones I know of.

X2 for Greenlane. I’m in Washington and am considering just taking a road trip across the state and over the border to eliminate shipping/customs

Greenlane makes a fine product, been on for over a year. Excellent fit and finish. They have several style options.

What's the difference in weight between the aluminum and steel?

theres different set ups but it tends to be half the weight. so if steel is 80-70lbs then aluminum would be 30-40lbs

Honestly I was hoping there was some Chinesium aluminum ones. Cheap bc mass produced with a decent look. For the same price, or more, than steel I'll take the weight hit for strength and functionality. Thanks for all the links.

Lighter than steel, cheaper than Predator steps, more solid than steel, easy to install, not cab-mounted, better step-up-function than Predator steps ... any other requirements?

Sliders protect, meaning weight/mass and often hug the cab too close to be easy step-up. Predator steps crush easily off-road and are light but step-up nicer.

Everything I see/read ... until Marvel Comics tells us how to make "adamantium", you have to choose one or the other.

2B77ED3C-62CE-44D1-94F7-CA708AE13B49.jpg This is something we are working on. Need to make it look better, as this was more of a proof of concept design that we put on our bronco with the intentions of seeing if we could destroy them.

they held up really well on a hardcore wheeling trip!

My steel All Pro LB sliders have to be around 80-90lbs. I think you could lose some weight by going with a wield on option instead of bolt on.

What kind of gas mileage do you see losing with an additional 80lbs?? I think it’ll be negligible.

Hard to say based on just the sliders. I have sliders, full steel skids, and E rated 33s. I’m seeing around 15-16 if I drive slow. No tune or regearing. Soon to be a front bumper as well. It’s about the smiles not miles per gallon lol.

Right. I have skids, bumpers, sliders, lights, roof rack, bed rack, RTT, lift and 35’s. I’m getting 11.8MPG’s. But I love it!!
