Release of test drives will probably be coordinated with pricing….

Confirm itineraries for TRD Jon, Toyota Jeff, and several other YouTube content creators, carefully chosen for their, uh…expertise and unbridled enthusiasm. Entertain them, dress them in Toyota-branded hoodies, hats, and personal accessories before they film themselves driving on controlled courses while declaring the new Tacoma is so good that it can bend space & time.

    Then, release the Kraken…

EVs are going to like smartphones, heavily subsidized, get most everyone to covert over. Once they do subsidies go away, then utilities sky rocket on top of it. No matter the method of propulsion you can’t win for loosing.

Unfortunately there isn’t a NA engine option. Have been looking at Tundras, then think that thing has two turbos, two air filters, two intercoolers…then think I don’t know. Apparently Toyota as moved to the ranks of European automobiles, buy new, trade in before the warranty is up.

Guessing these turbo engines are just a stop gap for 10-15 years until BEV takes over. Then will anyone really want one? As much as we all like to bicker over EVs, a solid state battery, with 500-600 mile range, 10 minute charging and all the torques sounds pretty good. Most likely be a $100K midsize truck by then…and most people will be on the government teet to pay for utilities and groceries, but hey!

In Canada, the single biggest contributor to the price of gas is taxes. The government does not subsidize oil and gas production.

You can buy solar panels and harvest your own electricity.

I don’t know of anybody who has their own oil refinery.

You're wrong , they just don't get very much . Also if you look it up it's stopping in 2025. Alberta as a province though definitely does the most

    O Canada!
Looked into solar panels, too expensive for the ROI in the time frame I wanted, especially with our electric bill being quite low. That and extremely hard to transfer to another house if/when we move. No guarantees that they will boost equity either. Believe we are on the verge of a major dip in housing here in the Boise area.

Was hot for bio-diesel there for awhile, isn’t too difficult to make. Unfortunately big business got into the WVO game.

No matter how you slice it the little guy is always going to be fucked by big business and the government. As things get more and more expensive and the never tax this and tax that. It does nothing more than line the pockets of the elite ruling class while us commoners continue to get pinched. I am self employed and continue have to make adjustments for all the horse shit they continue to throw at us. Rising costs ultimately gets passed on to the customer, but it is a balancing act raise them too much, you loose customers.

Was really into it for awhile, was either going to swap in a VW TDI into 80s-90s Toyota pickup, or import a HiLux. It really made sense to me, using a waste product to fuel transportation. Worst part is harvesting the WVO, quite the nasty smelly job. But alias, too much effort for what it’s worth. Seeing all the people’s gross excess around me, thought myself the little I do doesn’t really matter in the big scheme of things. It isn’t how vehicles are propelled, it is Us and ALL that We do. Went from being a quasi-environmentalist to a “zero fucks given” type of person.

2022 Federal subsidies for all traditional energy combined was 3.2B and Federal Green Energy was 15.6B, imagine the price if that were taken away.

Well in the USA we give our oil oligarchs nearly a trillion a year to pollute. We want to make sure those guys and gals have a roof above their heads and have a warm home in the winter. The EV industry oligarchs do get subsidies too, to be fair, under 20 billion I think.

Yep, the wealthy get wealthier and government gains more and more power.

Wonder how much government money Musk has received for his ventures, Solar City, Tesla, Space-X, etc?

Have a subsidy tracker website somewheres in my bookmarks, will have to look it up.

    Edit: found it https://subsidytracker.goodjobsfirst.org/parent/tesla-inc

I love Space-X since they deliver pollution directly into the atmosphere and often! Just think of all the money spent and engineering they could have provided clean drinking water to the billions of people who are currently without it. However not as romantic as launching themselves on phallus symbols into space though.

Do you consider the federal tax on gasoline a subsidy?

Do you realize most of those oil companies are publicly traded? And as a result, all of their financials are public information. You can buy stock in them and become an oligarch yourself.
