That’s the route I took as well, only deadened the doors front and back, and didn’t have enough to do the cab rear or bottom. The rest for me was user friendly stuff, and lessons learned from my 88, and 2002 Tacoma’s. Undercoating, and suspension upgrade (both previous models were very soft in the rear, and worsened over time), lighting upgrades here in deer country, seat covers for the dogs, rear bed mat, and bed cargo retaining rack that mounts on the sliders. Although I take care of it, it’s used as a truck in the country.

I was tired of laying down old sheets and towels for my little dog when I took her for a walk, so I got this seat cover. It looks easy to keep clean.

After a few days of double and triple checking everything was tight for my coilovers, swaybar, endlinks, UCAs, LCAs, front differential mounts etc, I finally fixed a “popping” noise in my front end that would happen during low speed and when front end would articulate. Ended up being my RCI engine skid which is aluminum was rubbing on my chassis at a mounting point just in front of the transmission skid plate and after spacing the engine/transmission skid plate with a couple of grade 8 washers, it’s gone. I only figured this out after reading a bunch of posts on this forum and one in particular from @Rjparnow about his RCI skid plate doing something similar in a post from 2020.

Installed seat jackers,… Wow! What a difference in ride comfort! Was skeptical at first and was not looking to sit higher in my seat as I’m 6’1”. Bought the budget option on EBay for $20 (drivers side)

Did my first personal oil change on this truck (previous service done by dealership)
What a PITA vs my 2nd Gen. Had to drop my skid plate as the service door hardware has corroded. Guess that’s what I get for buying the AMAZON TRD knockoff.

Heard that. I have a rattle in the headliner that I’m avoiding going after, but there’s one in the dash somewhere that’s making me crazy

Be kinda nice to leave the kids at home and do this as a date weekend. Especially with a wall tent and wood burning stove.

Where did it corrode? I'd like to resolve that before it becomes an issue. The screws? The threaded nuts?

The screws,… and this is in Southern California weather… next time I do an oil change, I’ll have to drill them out or modify them somehow.

Tested mx4 for water intrusion into bed while washing. To my surprise almost no water made it into to the bed other that at the tailgate from the pressure washer or garden hose. We had a light rain earlier in the week and I did see some water on the sides of the bed, not enough to get anything wet. So now I have to decide whether it’s worth pulling side rails to seal. Mayde I will wait until we get enough rain to make the roads really wet and see how much gets in.
