Gravel is still there. The crossing by the tressle was deep in the middle but nothing a stock truck couldn't manage if you stick to a side.

I did it in a 05 sport 2wd with the lsd. Went from Barstow to Laughlin. Only had to get a tug on one hill. Everything else was easy scenery.

I was there 2 weeks ago. The first crossing (the one with gravel in it) was maybe 1.5-2 feet at the deepest.

the second one under the train track bridge was dry.

The train crossing portion was DRY?? Wow, I've never seen that before even in times of drought. That's really surprising after all the snowmelt and the hurricane this season.

Thanks for the intel. I'll be going through there soon, probably solo, and can incorporate that section into my route without worry.

I had the same reaction, I was very excited to find a deep water crossing in SoCal and I figured after hurricane Hillary it would be deep but nope :/

I did it from Laughlin to Barstow. It was great. 99% 2WD is fine.

Took 3 days, 2 nights including travel to Laughlin.

Dec. 2020 - My favorite trip by far. Go with a group of friends. 3 days and 2 nights was sort of "rushing" a little as many of us had work the next day.

Anyone do the crossing this year? I heard it's still pretty dry/low.

With all the rain we got this year, I would think the opposite.

It's probably low because it's still filled in with rocks, that construction company was supposed to remove them a few years ago I thought. Shame

I would think the same, but there are a few videos on youtube of crossings early this year and it's low.

TBH, I prefer it to be low so everyone can experience the Mojave Road. It shouldn't act as the gatekeeper.

Knowing it was low was the only reason why I crossed the Mojave.

There are plenty of routes to avoid the not so deep creek crossing, but I get it.
