Funny you should mention that. I have had the same issue. Today I took my truck in for service and heard a rattling noise afterwards when I was out wheeling at Hollister Hills. Two issues, 1 the dipshit tech put the oil change access panel on backwards….
    IMG_6329.jpg
The second was I started hearing a rattling noise underneath while I was ascending a black diamond trail and had no room to turn around, let alone stop and check. When I got to a spot where I could get out and check I discovered a bolt was missing where the engine and transmission skid meet. Needless to say my day was done since I didn’t have any extra bolts on board to remedy the issue. When I got back to civilization I was able to pick up up a bolt and washer and fix it. My prior service at Victory Toyota they removed the skid plate to perform the oil change. Apparently these yahoos didn’t use any locktite. Like they say, if you want something done right do it yourself!

Had the same issue as well as some squeaks in the same area. When I pulled the speaker cover to install DS18 tweeters I found that the mount for the auto-headlight sensor was loose. So I inserted a few thin strips of rubber insulation around it as well as along the edges of the grill, in particular between the speaker grill and the edge of the window trim, all below the surface so isn't visible. No more squeaks or rattles. I don't recall where I got the material, but it's something like this stuff so it's easy to cut up:

    https://www.amazon.com/6x6-Inch-Neoprene-Plumbing-Material-Protection/dp/B018H9CCPG?th=1

You can find something similar at Home Depot or your local auto parts store.

You could probably use some 3M trim adhesive tape too.

Finally attached the Stant locking gas cap. I waited enough time for the cap from O'Reilly without the "S" on it to throw a code, but it has not.

Now .. committing to Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi ...

Never seize. And an old mechanic trick. When tightening the screws hold the pressure on them for a few seconds. Mine are still good

I got some of the stuff and a road map for the rest...
I finally got my Deaver U402 Stage 2 leaf packs installed!!! Zero regrets, it was the right choice for me. I'm at the lower end of the weight rating so I'm super high right now, but once I get my battery reinstalled under the bed and my rooftop tent platform installed, it should level out pretty well. My struts are topped out now so I'm looking to get some new struts in the back then. I will look at getting new struts for the front, likely with a plus one lift to help level it out a bit. But I like the look of the heavy rake! However, I want to fill up that hole with a bit more tire so once I get the plus one inch on the front I'll figure out what my max tire size is and balance everything out. I'm so happy I went with the Dealers instead of an add a leaf pack. I'm glad I have a good mechanic who talked me out of buying something I wouldn't be happy with in the long run.

Nothing much my way, was rainy over the weekend so my projects didnt get worked on. I did however get to use 4WD for the first time last night. Got the truck somewhat muddy which was fun. I did notice that where I was at is a neighborhood that goes around a lake, and all the roads are dirt roads. I have only seen this area a few times with the Taco and were all during dry conditions. 4WD was switched on about a 1/2 mile in after exiting the highway and I noticed the Taco has good composure as expected, on the good parts of the road. However a little disappointed with the crab-walk jittery bounce over the sections where the road was still firm, but the rain having revealed those horizontal creases every few inches in the road? The ass-end was all over the place and I had to slow down from 15- ish to a crawl. I have nothing in the bed to help with traction but now I feel like I need to throw a load of bricks back there.

Never seize on the skid plate. I threw some fat washers I had lying around. But even a little lift is better than the floor.
