Thanks, she hit here stride at 3 years, We lost here three years ago when she went head strong after a runner, 2 hours of swamp and thorns but we found here. I bought a tracking collar after that. Best money spent.

I hunt with my lab who generally doesn’t range that far. But a year ago I winged a pheasant that sailed about 150 yards and then must have hit the ground running in heavy high brush/grass. My lab was off and running after him in a flash. After 15 minutes I went looking for him. I was in a panic after another 15 minutes of not finding him. He’s very very well trained and always responds the whistle, voice or hand signals. Another 10 minutes he comes running out of the brush and delivers the pheasant to hand. And of course couldn’t wait to be off after the next pheasant.

I’ve found that black and white springers are nuttier than their liver and white siblings. Breeder said it’s probably due to their recessive genes.

    Anyone getting warmed up yet?

Beautiful night for breaking clays with a pair of Remingtons (Model 11 12ga and Spartan 20ga SxS).

My little girl Belle. She’s a pointing lab. She’s pushing 10 years old and has accounted for numerous quail, Huns, pheasant, grouse and more. MTG

I was able to join some friends in Wyoming for Sage Grouse and then Montana for Sharptail and Huns. My older dog didn't get the hang of sage grouse till our second hunt, then had multiple points and backs. Montana was on fire with great bird numbers and of course we saw hundreds of pheasants since the season wasn't open..lol

Love the pics Sprig. I wish I could do more pheasant hunting, but its pay to play here in AZ and the quality of the hunting is hit and miss.

Good luck getting a deer MT!

My GWP after a go around with a Porcupine, i knocked a bird down and she got on a little chunk of brush that she wouldn't leave alone i thought for sure she was gonna come out with my bird, but nope instead she emerged with a sore snout and a few hours of work for me.

Damn, I hate to see that. Of all the years I’ve hunted my dogs have bumped into a lot of different critters but thank never a porkypine. Hope your buddy is doing well.
