    Good morning manly men :hattip:

    RE: Poll
I'll hit the brakes or do a bit of evasive action to avoid hitting a squirrel, etc. but not to the point of heroics.

My real axe to grind is with rabbits - they are about the dumbest creature known to man in my opinion.

Somewhere around 25 years ago I was motorin' along in a Plymouth Horizon (a car that combined 2 words than never should be used together: computer & carburetor  ) and a rabbit came out in the road and began zig-zagging back and fourth.

Being a generally kind hearted person (...at the time...) I was trying not to flatten said rabbit. As I skidded to a stop crosswise on the dirt road I felt/heard an odd thump  and realized it was my left rear tire coming back down on the road.

That day marked the end of my concern about rabbit longevity.

This is exactly what my Horizon-heap looked like with a red cloth interior and typical for Chrysler at the time back breaking seats that were slightly reclined in the full upright position. With a 3 speed automatic and 2.2 engine it was good for about 25 mpg and actually quite nice to drive, it had a lot of cargo space for a small car.

Southern Idaho had "whistle pigs" aka ground squirrels. Every late winter early spring they come out. Lots by highways and such. One gets creamed, others come out to eat them (they are cannibals)...they get creamed... by end of day theres patches 5' around of ground meat and hair.

One of our briefings to the base, was do not avoid these rodents. You will end up hurting yourself or others or your vehicle. Just run them over.

This is the truck that idled down the streets in my youth, they had a bell that rang every 10 seconds of so mounted above the windshield.
