There's road construction near my work and a week ago they were painting and not blocking off the freshly painted areas. Lucky me drove over some of it and it dried on my truck before I noticed it. Most of it ended up in the wheel well and fender flare but some of it was slung off my tires onto the paint (not the clear film along the bottom.)

Is there a safe way to remove this paint without damaging the truck's clearcoat/paint? I'm assuming I'm going to have to gently scrape it off with a rubber scraper of some sort but I haven't dealt with this before.

Paint thinner and a Terry cloth towel , make sure you wash the area real well with soap and water afterward , also WD 40 works good too , the faster you get it off , the better .Goof Off is also very effective

Of all the stuff I mentioned , paint thinner and goof off are the fastest . Wd 40 usually only works if you catch it before it dries , nail polish remover works as well . Good luck

Wax (the same wax you'd wax your truck with) is a very effective paint transfer remover. Depending on how bad/thick it is, i would try using that before using paint thinner over a painted surface.

Whatever you do, do NOT use acetone. It will ruin your clear coat.

ACETONE! that is my go to for most paint related mishaps, like the above dude said if you're going hard it may mess-up some clear coat. but I've also washed and waxed after and been just fine.

I used isopropyl alcohol to remove white paint all over my doors! Works great and is not so aggressive like acetone

I thought the White tacomas removed it's own paint simply over time?

Please. Do not use acetone on the clear coat! Clay bar is the answer.
