Trail Run - Turkey Creek 5/17

Just ordered my new tires. Will be here monday. Sliders get put on tomorrow. New door trim should be here tomorrow aswell. All I need is a trip to prep for to really get my ass in gear.

 

I was down bloody basin road last weekend and there are quite a few camp spots. But I'm going to be that guy that says I just saw that scenery want to see something new.

I would like to camp somewhere maybe north of Crown King. But down with whatever the group decides because I don't have time to research it right now.

We can cruise around and find something more north. I am game.

Yeah it is. I am still holding off on the bumper tho. Well maybe. Who knows what @Yacob_D and I will get into tomorrow.

 

Is the headcount in the first post accurate at only 3? Is there still room?

Yeah hoping to be there. Depends on if Im in the mood after essentially camping and wheeling every day for the last 6 months. Also how the wife feels about letting me go. That shouldnt be a huge deal though since we spent the last 6 months within 3 feet of each other inside an 8x12 foot box, could use a little alone time

 

I plan on camping Saturday night as well, spot TBD? As well as Friday night, we have a scout looking into the spot for Friday. I’ll be headed west after work when Andrew heads down the hill.

 

I think we're in for Friday night camping also.
Usually home from work a little after 5, so would head out after.

Well I was thinking about just doing to trail and not camping but then I realized where the start of the trail is. Im in Flagstaff this week and that would be an early morning. Now 50/50 on joining.

 

For sure! Ive got a Midland GSMR in the truck for when you get close as well! @KingOfTheNorth has a buddy that will drop a pin for us and will share. Got a small punch list to tackle and I'll be ready to roll!

 

Do you all have a GMRS channel you typically use or want to use? I'll add it in the first post.

All I have left is to mount the RTT this week and pack the cooler!

Not really, depends on how busy the coms get. We typically run on 19 or 16.. I havent figured in any custom channels yet. Ive got one in the truck and two handhelds to loan.

 

Let's start on channel 19 and go from there.

I also have a truck mounted radio + 1 handheld

 

I will grab one of your handhelds as I only have the CB and its been acting up. Think I need to tune it again. But I wont get to that anytime soon.

 

I just texted him the criteria for the camp spot. He is going to jump on his app and mark a few spots to go out and roll around checking friday afternoon. He will text me a pin when he finds a suitable spot for us.

 

The in laws came to town and they wanted to see some Phoenix desert off-roading. We took them through about a third of it just so they can get a taste. Pic to show off the flex on my wife’s KDSS equipped 4runner

 

Oh thats getting me more excited than I already was. 1 more day!

 

Looks like will get to stretch our legs a bit! Gonna be so fun and just the right temps! Hope this little bit of rain hit that area!
