    Good evening everyone.

    It took 1 1/2 days at work to get the HR person to spend 3 minutes to send the re-authorization to IT to grant access to my computer while they extended my work contract for another 6 months. New goal- be outta there before the next renewal rolls around.

    Funny ( to me) story to share about the trip to the MVA last Saturday. My b-day is in Feb and my license is due to renew. I usually run into a problem with the vision test because of a scar on the retina of my left eye. I wanted to give myself plenty of time to go to the eye doctor and get the usual paperwork that says I'm not completely blind.

    Anywho- I get called into the small cube area, the MVA lady tells me to stand up and put my back against the wall , cover my left eye with my left hand and read line #2 from the chart in front of me. 5 rows of letters, all the same font size. I can see them clearly enough that I won't need my glasses. I crank off the line for her, she then tells me to cover my right eye with my right hand... Hmmm, there may have been a tiny gap between my mildly arthritic fingers where I could see the line perfectly.. I read back the letters and sat back down and paid the $48. I'm now good for another 8 years.

    A day late and a dollar short to the party, it took some digging to find a few pics of a time long ago.. using my phone to take a pic of a pic when a Kodak Disc camera was cutting edge for "easy" photography!



    The 1st time we literally "floated" into the well deck of a LHA, Much better then trying to squeeze onto the tail gate of a LST!



    My trusty ride back in the day- plenty of SoCal desert trips in that rig
