I just put Amsoil Severe Gear oil in my truck and it was a night and day difference! I am very pleased with this brand as I have heard a lot about them in the past. My question is, has anyone used their motor oil before, preferably in the Taco? What did you use? How did you like it?

I use the their 5w-30 in my truck. I typically run it around 10-12k miles. If you plan on running long oil change intervals it helps to have an oil analysis done to see how well it's running.

I have Amsoil in the motor and front end of my truck, in the motor and manual transmission of my Honda Accord and in the motor of our Acura TL. I go at about 12,000 to 16,000 on the motor oil depending how convenient it is for me to change the oil given the weather conditions :)

That is exactly what I plan on using. What oil filter do you use and how often do you change it?

I guess if I was going to keep my vehicles until the wheels feel off I would spend that kind of money. but Unfortunately I don't and regular dino will suffice. In 7 years I will have <65K on the truck and be looking for a newer one with the then creature comforts offered.

X2, I do the same thing. I use a Wix oil filter and change it every 5K or 6 months, whichever comes first.

X2. I switched from Dino to amsoil synthetic and can't imagine being able to detect a difference. I do get a warm fuzzy feeling however......

I'm thinking about switching to amsoil on my bikes but can't imagine spending that much on the truck's oil change. Then again I have 3 months to really think about it. :)

I put it in my rear diff as well as transfer case and front diff. It may just be me. It just rides a lot more smooth now. Maybe less vibes could explain it....

I run Amsoil Severe Gear in the transmission and rear end of my BMW motorcycles. It's an excellent lube. I've run Amsoil 20W-50 motorcycle-specific oil in the crankcase of previous BMWs and will with my current bike...soon as it's fully broken-in.

I use AMSOIL 0W30 signature series in the engine and use a WIX filter that I change about evey 5K. I also use the severe gear lube in the rear diff. So far so good with all there products nothing bad to say about them. I have seen first hand in testing how good there products are. My dad has been a AMSOIL dealer for about 20 years so its nice to get the hook up!
