LOL. They're 15% off right now. Just totaled 4 delivered to my door. $1821. That's really damn good for flow formed bead locks.

Not bad at all, those look really nice. Flow formed is a marketing term but it's still cast though. What's a set of forged bead locks go for? Gotta be really expensive, I know the forged wheels I had on my BMW were like $1200 a piece and they aren't hardly as thick as a truck wheel.

Flow formed is a cast wheel but it is not the same as a cast wheel. The flow forming process itself is what sets them apart. It's not just a marketing gimmick. Battle Born has forged beads for $723 with the current discount. Forged are rad but unless I was building an Ultra rig I'd pass on them. Both cast and flow forged are plenty strong enough. lol

Agreed, I've never killed a truck cast wheel, always run cheap ones because they end up getting gouged and gashed anyway. The BBW wheels look like a good deal for something with some beef in the casting. One of these days I'll make the jump to 17s (fuck I really don't want to) I'll have to keep those in mind.

    Shackles are ready.

Relocated the perches for the 7 inch shackles. Hitting 35° at (around) ride height. (Nothing is for sure about ride height until it's actually sitting at ride height)

Sometimes it's nice to have new shiny stuff - I saw those smooth bodies you ordered @El Taco Diablo and even though no tubes, nice clean shocks will be nice to install and know they won't have any issues when you run them.

Just let me know if you plan on ordering them around a holiday weekend when I could (possibly w/ no guarantee) do a TW express - took a 3rd gen exhaust up to Tahoe on an overnight road trip during summer and had a good time. They're in Garden Grove 20 min away from me. That brought me into your area @theesotericone and took a short hike to East lake by Bridgeport - really beautiful place.

Hub bore on a lot ultra 4 stuff is 108 instead of 106. You can get little rings to adapt so it is tight in the hub.

2k for those wheels that guy is off his rocker. Buy new for that price. Racelines are 25% off now.

I gave less than half that for 4 forged and 3 cast matching KMC 4400 takeoffs. Worse shape but still a big difference in price.

What's up man. Still breaking that poor 4Runner? You've still got a lot of field repairs to go to pass me but at the rate your going that should happen by next summer. lol

If it’s any indication I just ordered 3 more stub shafts from Toyota… need to redesign it and get quotes on a 4340 part when I have time.

Had a couple trips with no major breaks but there is always something. Kinda miss my Tacoma and I’m tempted to find one to swap parts or tons over to. If I kept it light I think the 7.5 front could do ok.

    Yesterday was arts and crafts.

    LX460 fronts, 4th Gen T4R rear.

Will clean up the mounting surfaces, then they'll be good to go.

you went to a sequoia axle in the rear?

Did you measure the flex you are getting with the 63's yet?

    Definately not a Sequoia axle.

    20231023_182324.png

Cycling with just the main spring, with no wheels/tires mounted, I'm getting right at 14 inches from full bump to full droop.

I have this one. I was mainly looking at pinion angle. Didn't take any pics from the back at full bump. I can try to get one tonight. But, I'm hoping to get my shocks spotted and tacked before it starts raining on me.

yeah or from further away, your build has turned me on to the 63's since I don't want to go SUA, and 3/4link is a much bigger project than I have time for right now, but all the references I've seen don't have much bump and all kinds of "don't let the arch go negative" talk

LOL... If you don't let the arch go negative, you wont have any up travel on 63s. Mine go about 2.5 inch negative.

Jury is still out, for me, on the 63s. I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake by going away from the Alcans. Worst case is I'll get by with the set I have for a season, and then have Alcan build me a set of custom 63s next winter.

I wasn't about to give away the clearance with SUA, and 3/4 link is a bigger project than I wanted as well. Also, in CA, I'd be pretty much limited to 3 link because you can't (legally) relocate the fuel tank. It wouldn't pass smog visual inspection.
