What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Finally tackled the leaf springs and front shocks last couple days. Didn't take any pictures of the work beyond one text message reply to a "what'chu doin'" message.

I reclaimed juts about 1.25" in the front and about 2" in the rear. It also rides worlds better.

Thanks to @turbodb for their write up, made it a cinch.

 

The old 5100's I took off the front didn't have dust boots and I don't think my 6112's have them either

Damn, $155 for a couple hunks of aluminum?? I like the idea, but for corbeaus you could just stack washers for spacers I just cut up some tube, works fine and cost about $5

If you can weld you could make the same thing for the cost of some flat bar and nuts and bolts

I noticed a bit of oil in the fender well the other day while 11,345ft up at the peak of the Abajo Mountains.

Opened up the passenger door to replace the speaker. Unfortunately there was a casualty. Fortunately replacements are cheap on ebay.

 

Odd that the oil in the can is so Clean??? Most cans the oil is dark.??

 

I haven't seen other cans to notice a difference. The oil on the dipstick comes out pretty clean still too

I had a catch can on my Silverado, it looked just like that, coffee with creamer

 

Could be a strong brew

 

Normally the catch cans I've seen the color of the oil is mocha to dark coffee color, due to blow by of carbon in the oil.
Your's looks like it came straight from the Oil bottle.
Not saying it's a problem; but that's the cleanest catch can oil I have ever seen.

 

I've got a fuel leak somewhere on my gas tank. Can I remove the gas tank skid plate without dropping the tank to make it easier to inspect where the leak is coming from? I didn't want to start taking out bolts and risk dropping the tank when I'm not ready to.
