This is how I feel since I lost my job. Never have I stared at my phone this much before. Constantly looking for a new job. I've applied to 10 different jobs with zero traction.

    Can't like that.
How about a delivery person ? Amazon , door dash, Uber eats ...... or seasonal help at UPS.

What do you do? Have you tried usajobs.gov? If not I'm happy to help craft a resume to fit whatever job you'd qualify for - the field and all that.

I thought the Super burger is their 3 patty burger. I could be wrong. I haven't been to Eat-n-Park in awhile. Any other western PA posters know?

Oh - I had a wake-up call in Shrewsbury...I haven't been to a FiveGuys since probably 2019 in Germany. Maybe 5 or 6 Euro per burger.

I went to the FiveGuys near the Home Depot and Panera Bread and all that yesterday...

One of two things probably happened over the years. One of those things is I'm old and crotchety. The second of those two things is "holy crap balls, TEN FRIGGIN DOLLARS for a burger? Did they magically double in price? This was a serious WTF moment for me. I asked the cashier if that's right - not a 'meal' price. She, sheepishly, confirmed $9.70-something for a 'little cheeseburger' and $1 more for the full size. Is that normal? Look, i used to go a few times a month back near Detroit and I'm certain they were around $5 each. yes, that was 2015. But c'mon man. oof.

Yea eating out has become ridiculously expensive. I never leave Burger King for under $20.

We have a couple local places that keep prices low, but food quality decent. Couple weeks ago I got a 12" steak (chopped) sandwich and a medium drink and it was $10. Place is always busy.

I can make a solid steak sandwich - maybe I retire and get a 'normal priced' place?

The wife and I never ate out much. Both of us can cook well and I always brown bagged my lunch to save money. I go out with my mother about once a month so I don't mind the cost. But, yes, nothing is cheap when it comes to eating out any more. I think that's why so many restaurants - fast food and otherwise - are going out of business. That, and they can't find workers.

I was doing pest control. But 1 of the biggest issues right now jobs that are available are over an hour away. And at a pay rate of only 20hr for alot of these jobs that hour drive isn't worth it. The way gas prices are. I've looked into Amazon and there are no open positions in my area. Even though these warehouses have been over built all over. I have a pretty good resume already. The job market ust doesn't seem all that great right now. I get to start collecting unemployment tomorrow thank God.

Where I work we can't find qualified help. We've even resorted to using a head hunter to try and find us people. One of the biggest issues we have is that ours is such a specialized field that there aren't a ton of people out there who can do what we do. Add to that the number of warehouses in our area that pay big money for relatively low skills and that makes it tough to compete for a small family owned shop like us.

I wish my employer did pay more and that they gave out better benefits but I work Monday-Friday 6:30-3:00 with no mandatory OT and employee medical insurance is fully paid. I'm also too damned old to want to start over again but that's on me.

UPS and FedEx always hires heavy starting around now for drivers helpers (basically you’re the one that gets out of the truck and throws the fragile electronics on the ground while the driver gets the next stop ready) and package sorters at the warehouse.

If you can get on full time and end up as a driver they make well over $100k after a few years.
