That sounds like a good deal provided all damage is cosmetic. Is it possible to go see it in person prior to purchase? Pics don't always show frame damage or ruined forks depending upon photo angles. For that price it sounds like you need a bike for track days.......

lol that is how i got a cheap hyusong for like $150, kid put it down, destroyed the fairings, bent the handle bars. and was going to sell it for scrap, still started so I asked what the junk guy offered they said $100, i put a LED pod on the front, some Amazon signals and some handle bars, rode it for a while and a guy at work said he was looking to buy a cheap bike to learn to ride, sold that to him for $1500 8 years later its got some honda running gear in it now but guy still rides it around.

just a couple of things tbh
unsure i know some yards do allow it but not all sadly and track days? eh i got my civic coupe for that or the possible incoming project car. im more or less wanting something to ride back and forth to work thats more comfortable and that can do longer trips if wanted to like go 3 hours north or south for no reason lol.

Love the looks and love that we're getting new players in the manufacturer space in the US, but I don't think for an ADV tourer I could ever do less than an 800. Blazed across I-90 through Montana a few years ago on my F800 and it was SCREAMING and hated life. Like sure, you can avoid it, but some days you just have to super slab. I can't imagine what a 450 would be doing at that speed. I think chaseontwowheels currently has their next size up? I haven't watched any of his videos on it, because I can't stand his voice, but I'm still subbed for some reason and see the thumbnails haha

Same here, I have my CB750 and CT90 plated as collectible vehicles so I don't pay yearly registration on them. Just got my CT90's new plate after applying in June, WA had a weird specialty plate shortage for a long ass time. I think it limits me to pleasure riding and to/from shows.. but it's a motorcycle, so all riding is pleasure riding

I'm more interested in the "side road" ADV. I don't really care much for interstate speeds anymore. I like to "putt" :D

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I don’t usually brag on my truck, but I got to say over the last 2 weeks this tundra has proved it self to be the most versatile truck I own.
I have gone to the dump over a dozen times, hauled a mini-X to grade my road, went and picked up my JD3025, and I have picked up 150 2x4x8 twice.
Also hauled 20 8’x4 sheep and goat panels at a time. It could have handled more easily, but that’s what I could afford at a time.

Thank you Tundra for being the shit!

I love the idea of a little sportbike(and still window shop them)......I just don't think I can handle the riding position like I use to if I'm honest with myself  I'm all about comfort at this point in life :D

I kind of go either way with power requirements. Sometimes I feel my Versys is a little underpowered, especially at high elevation, but other times I feel like the RC 390 has more power than I need.

I think you’re right though, if it’s a long distance bike that will get loaded down with stuff, I’d like it to have at least 90 hp.

Man I’m always in pain and am pretty tall but I think the RC 390 is pretty comfortable and I haven’t had issues riding it for 2-3 hours at a time.

I have gotten to the point I don't care what peak HP and torque are advertised. I'd rather see a dyno print out to see the curves.

    Where's the usable power?
Is it smooth or is there a late RPM surge?

I'm a noob, though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

For sure, those are valid concerns. I am assuming that any adv/long distance bike would be either a twin or triple that generally have more torque down low vs a peaky 4 cyl.

My Versys for example only has 60 hp but it feels like most of its usable power and torque is near the midrange so it’s actually usable and feels like more than 60 hp.

I haven't ridden a sportbike in 20yrs, so my knowledge is a little dated  I'm lucky in the fact even at 44, I'm pain free

If it weren't so vibey I'd say the same on the CB500X. It's just under 50 HP, but feels fine power wise. I just wish it wasn't a 180° because of the vibration. I didn't hate it on the last ride for the vibrations. Didn't go over 60 MPH, though.

I'll still upgrade to something shaft driven in the future, because I really hate chains. I want longer distance rides to be more doable, so a bigger bike definitely won't hurt that objective.

I get the appeal of shaft drive but I’ve never had issues with chains. I’m also pretty lenient on cleaning (like 1k+ miles between cleaning and lubing). If it rains I’ll clean it more often but otherwise I don’t have any issues.
