More power is always good but it’s not something I necessarily need. My current truck has no issue towing my boat.

The Gladiator is on my short list for new trucks. I haven’t driven one yet but I had a Wrangler for a rental last summer and liked it a lot.

I will say as a manual transmission guy, the ZF8 auto in those is fantastic.

That’s awesome. What’s the towing range on that EV Ford Ranger?

There is, don’t really care for them. However probably beats having a real job, can’t say I blame them in that respect. Beyond over the daily grind.

It is. Would do a van, but really don’t want to daily one. The Taco was compromise of all the vehicles I crossed shopped. Anything from Subarus to 1Ton trucks and a bunch in between. The Taco while not perfect fit most of the needs and wants.

An F150 Supercab would seem to tick a lot of boxes for you. Bonus is all the new ones come standard with a 36 gallon tank. Had one for a work rental and loaded down with tools I had nearly 700 miles of range to a tank. Thing drove great. If I didn't value the smaller footprint of the Tacoma so much I'd be driving one.

It was a very close second. Main reason I bought the Taco was, Ford was 6-8 months out and Toyota was 5 weeks at the time of purchase. New Tundras weren’t available yet. And needed a new truck like now! At the time

Drove my buddies for a day pulling a 6X12 cargo. That V8 is awfully nice. No turbos to deal with in the future either.

For the F150 I like the 2.7 ecoboost. It's a stout engine imo and would suit my needs quite well. Living at 7000' I have a hard time saying no to turbos.

You may wanna go check one out now, some of them have over 20K off MSRP on them. They are overstocked big time on the Gladiator.

It's never a good sign when the vehicle buys you.

Not always, manufacturers throw money on the hood to capture market share as well. Being able to advertise 45 years best selling truck goes a way with consumers.

Is there any vehicles that are under $18k at this point? Even when I purchased my 2016 civic for $23k it didn’t include rear climate control. I think that is usually found on the higher end models at the high 20s

Here is the cheapest one you are going to get unless you go 2WD.

Where is that? Is it off of normal priced vehicles or a $70K Mohave?

thats kinda my point. Its nearly 2024, every vehicle sold new should come with AC front a rear standard optioned. Its not like its new tech or difficult to do.

Buddy of mine is senior tech and used to work at Ford, he says they are pretty good and have some service trucks with 250-300K on them with little issue.

Here in Idaho the V8 would be fine. about the only option for non turbo these days. Every time I look at the Ford’s my wife says stick with Toyota, even though there are several factors why I like Ford better. Dunno, not like she is driving or paying for it. Ya know!? Lol!
