    Apparently there was a big ass fire under an overpass of a huge freeway intersection in downtown LA last week, and it got so hot that it damaged the integrity of the freeway so they've had to shut down that section for up to 6 weeks. It's such a heavily traveled area that it was actually declared a state emergency lol. Really fucked up the already fucked up traffic down there, glad I'm nowhere near it.

    Oh and apparently part of the reason the fire got so hot and out of control, was that a bunch of 55 gallon drums went up in flames that were being illegally stored under the overpass, and no one knows what was in them.

    This seem like an insane quote to you guys too? I messaged him asking about dual amps, speakers for front doors and the speakers in the access cab and a 15 sundown sub and this is what he sent.

    I know nothing about car audio but this seems ridiculous.

    he put a bunch of shit on there I didn’t ask for but again I don’t know audio well. Thinking it would be worth the time to do it myself.

    @Bandido

    Because I need a place to mount my laptop. I hate the freebies they've got so I modified the arm and made my own mount for attaching it the way the factory setup does -

    It's just dust that makes it look like it's a screw. It's an embossed portion on the top marking the positive terminal

    I was in California a few years back when everything was "operational" while visiting family... Can't fathom what it's like out there

    That's pretty damn slick. I've been trying to figure out the best way to use my old Intel NUC in the garage without taking up bench space.

    :rofl:Not wrong...

    I was thinking more about mounting the NUC to the back of a cheap 4k screen, and then mounting that on an arm.. still need to figure out the mouse and keyboard situation. They need a dust shield- especially the trackball mouse.

    It's just so far down the project list... I gotta build some wife approved (read: "more than unfinished plywood") storage in the house for the new home office server/NAS and network gear I just got.

    No wife here, but I hid all that stuff in the basement. It keeps the furnace in the water heater company.

    Slab on grade- no basement. I was thinking to add a shelf in unused space in the upper closet area... Although I would not be thrilled to have to go wireless between the NAS and my dev desktop, and I don't wanna drop a cat6 cable in the wall...
